LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
as i age, and get increasingly isolated, knowing lfgss is still here gives me something to look forward to. i don’t post as much as i used to, but i have plans for posts months, and even years away—with that light disappearing, and all our history; well, it has brought tears. it probably won’t do me in, but right now, this evening it feels like it would.
whatever happens; my most best wishes and thanks to Velocio

I agree that something needs to be done about this Shell business, but I don't think abandoning club riders is it.
The track league I am racing in started this autumn, and ends next spring. LFGSS CC not renewing its BC affiliation could leave me and similar riders somewhat in the lurch, having to figure out which other club to join, pay the membership fees, and fork out for new kit-assuming any is available-and money still ends up going towards BC anyway.
It strikes me that what would be a dictatorial decision for LFGSS CC not to renew its BC affiliation flies in the face of the club's stated aims of enabling riders to compete without having to join other clubs.
Not renewing would be like flouncing out of a meeting because you don't like what is being said, and in the process removing your chance to have any further say or hear more.
It would be at least decent if a workable alternative was presented to riders rather than just abandoning them.
Not renewing weakens the club's position, and removes the possibility of dissent from within.
I propose renewing affiliation so club riders can still compete under LFGSS, AND getting the club jerseys reprinted with (with permission) Darren Cullen's hell logo on the sleeves in place of the shell logo GB riders have on their sleeves.
I don't want to get worked up and argue about this, I'm just trying to stay calm and concentrate on winning races. -

just in case anyone else wants an answer to “i’m looking for a functional tracksuit to keep me warm between races; i want it in lfgss colours and actually functional, ie. can don without doffing spd-sl shoes, and is warm; any ideas? not too concerned with budget”
i found and ordered:
italian army waterproof tracksuit, and
swedish army tracksuit.
got home from work just now to find them arrived just in time for league tomorrow.
the italian one has better matching colour, funky stripes, and full length leg zips, but it’s pretty clamy.
the swedish one is less of colour match, but it’s a much more comfortable fabric, has a nicer cut, and also clears spd-sl shoes with its ankle zips.
both very affordable. -

in my experience as a director in a couple of CICs personal liability to the directors can be £1.00
i’ve not read all through the act yet, but from what i’ve understood, if we just make lfgss a CIC, that would take away the risk from Velocio, and the site could basically just carry on the same.
just a few people to volunteer as directors is plenty, and the paperwork of setting it up with companies house etc.
