Thanks.
My project just got easier though, when I picked up the frame (ebay collection) the guy had all of the original compag gears etc as well as the wheels with Normandy luxe competition hubs , very nice.
Kitting it out with Modolo breaks .
Now I don't know what to do about tyres, I like gatorskins but looking at the original tan wall tyres on the bike they look much better than black wall but I cant find any tans that are very good, they're all pretty heavy and poor performance.
Also dont know where to source a decent pair of 25.4mm handlebars there seems to be a massive shortage of them.If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Hey, I just found this thread as I have recently acquired a '82 raleigh competition frame.
Spuds- looking to build up the bike, any advice on the wheels? I'm a bit confused, first project!
Do I have to go for 27" wheels or does this frame fit new wheels (I know I have to have 126mm hubs for it).Any help would be appreciated!
I'm looking to sell this frame (F&F), its really quite beautiful.
Built in the 90's by Lynx Cycles of Stafford.
