Related to this in a way.....
We were burgled a few months ago, some scum bag junkie kicked in the back door. shut our dog in the shed and proceeded to completely trash our house. Stole every piece of old family inherited silver and jewelry and peed in the corner of the hallway!
It gets worse.............
A neighbor saw the lowlife leaving our house and gave a statement and description to the police when they finally arrived 7 hours later. Part way through giving a description the officer they pipped up that they new who this was as he is a well known burglar in the area and lives just a few hundred yards away.
I suggested that they get up, go down there and kick his door in to get our things back only to be told that this was not possible as it would be against his human rights and civil liberties!!!!!
Now I hope this dose not sound too harsh, and I'm sure its very sad that they never got a hug when they were little but in my opinion he gave up his right to be treated like a human when he came into my house and did what he did!
We were lucky that we did manage to recover some of our property when he was found trying to sell it in the beer garden of our local pub and was "persuaded" to return it.
If the Brick lane market is so well know as an outlet for stolen bikes etc why dont the police do something? I realise they are to busy being PC and to scared that they may step on a few toes but surely if there is no paper trail to the bike on sale they get confiscated.
Seems that the police are there as window dressing where every you go.
Sorry I'm new to this, what is a "daily mail perspective"?
