The advice you've been given here is good. There has been lots of stuff over Facebook about how the Bob Martin cat stuff is seriously dangerous for cats.
IMO go to the vet, get the proper flea/tick stuff - Stronghold or Advocate and use it every month without fail. Your cat will be a lot happier too. Also get them regular worming tablets.
As to the fleas, if you treat the cat properly, they have a limited source of food so should die out naturally. Keep vacuuming and dusting daily. The Vet will recommend something. Be wary of over the counter home sprays as some can cause allergies in people.
I remember reading in an earlier post someone was having a behaviour problem with a cat. Feliway plug in could help.

After a 2 mile test cycle earlier in the week, I decided to venture out and see how tough a ride to High Beach would be, it's around a 15 mile round trip.
It's only the second time out in a year due to injury/illness. I told myself I could abort at any time if I felt like I was dying, and to take it slow. (That means snails pace to you!)
I did it all, aside from the final incline where you turn off from the roundabout at High Beach to the pub. I wasn't breathless; my legs weren't hurting, but they'd definitely had enough.
A quick pit stop before cycling home.
The whole ride felt a lot easier than I thought it would be. I guess I'm not as unfit as I was the last time I was unfit. ;)I know 15 miles isn't much compared to others, but after everything my body has been through it's a total win. I'm hoping I can build up my saddle time from here, with the aim of doing a Southend ride before too long.

@Scilly.Suffolk Cuteness overload.
@RichG great progress
@YeahNerdz lovely thing but how are you coping? Is he becoming really aggressive? My kitten went nuts at 5 months when all the hormones kicked in; he was much calmer at 6 months once his nuts had been sorted. (Excuse pun)

Finally, after too many setbacks, this is going to happen and I am going to cycle from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in 2018, but this time it will be over 3 days, not 2.
I'll need to practice some hill climbs first though...
