I got my bike back!!!! :D
A lovely man found it in Brighton and saw my bike on here and returned it to me last night!!!
He said there were quite a few bikes, it was recovered from near the marina, there is apparently a car boot sale down there and he bought it from some travellers - funnily enough there were travellers in viccy park the weekend my bike went missing (not saying anything, read from that what you will!)
Good luck to anyone else looking for their bikes - hopefully you will have the same good fortune as me.....right I'm over to the insurance section on this forum now!!

I agree with Ed. I know I'm a newbie here, but to me it is a bit of a piss take to only post on one thread, bumping your own bike.
sorry, i am really desperate to find it, i know it probably won't turn up, but someone found theirs on gum tree yesterday and it kind of got my hopes up, I have sooooo many automated google alerts that I am hoping I will find it....i just can't face giving up I loved my bike so much!!!
next bike i get will be bolted to the floor, i may even put a small remote detonator in the seat!

Down bricklane this morning, overheard a couple of the crims discussing how there has been a police crackdown on cycle crime. Didn't however deter them trying to shift and old school green gary fisher mountain bike and a back specialised mountain bike.
was on brick lane too looking for my bike and there were loads of police everywhere, didn't see anything good, maybe I was there too late? Someone mentioned something about Dalston Market - anyone been up there yet?
Anyone seen my bike yet? :(

Shit man, you're right.
I'm going down to the police station and get the stolen bike I've taken and give it back to the theft.
Someone's property got stolen, they're doing the right thing by advertising it on here on this forum, even if they're 'using' us, they have every right to post their stolen bike in the stolen topic, and hopefully by chance they might decided to have a butcher at this forum a little more and see what's the fuss is about.
Even though the person whose bike I've found and took hasn't been in contact for 2 days (quite odd), I still don't regret my action.
i've been really busy at work, i haven't been able to get on here, i am off to leave posters around brick lane for tomorrow...sorry i haven't been back sooner!

I'm interested in how SomeoneStoleMyBaby became acquainted with this forum.
Does she/he have friends on here? Likes singlespeed/fixed-gear cycling?
I'm thinking the name of the forumenger and the theft of the bike, might be by chance, connected?
that's a horrid thing to say :(
when i discovered my bike was stolen i hit every single cycle blog in london i could find asking them to post about my bike - someone pointed me here and told me to send them the link so he could tweet for me!!
secondly my insurance doesn't cover my bike so this is a genuine effort to recover my baby

might want to move this to private or take your number out.
and don't bite when someone says "you should have used x amount of locks, of this type and a tank to guard it. as well as watching it for 24 hours a day"
Hi Damo, I went and bought a pay as you go sim card for this purpose :)
thanks for the heads up!

I posted there too, i created this one to twitter it :(
it was in a gated community and the gates were busted open and the little b******* had time to just sit there and work on it
basically stolen from victoria park inside a gated community. myself and my neighbours were away and they had time to work through the lock :(

I am desperate to find my bike, I have put signs up in my local area and am dropping them into as many bike shops as possible, if anyone sees my beautiful bike, please let me know - 07554388613
I hardly see any Terry Dolans in london, and this one is very individual, please please please help me get my baby back!!!
-
If they sold each bike on average for £150 then they would have made close to £40,000 in a 6 month period. plus the DOL and housing benifits. Even if they do get sent to jail it would only be for about 3 months (depending on good behaviour), which would be free living before they probably come straight back out and do it again.
Police should take into account the values of the bikes, if they are stealing bikes worth the other side of £1,500 that is more than the value of a small car!! :(

Hi Guys, it's my first time posting, here, and I am devastated my beautiful bike was stolen over the weekend from a secure gated community in Victoria Park - the lock on our gate was broken and my bike (and the bike of a fiver year old) was stolen. Mine was chained to the front of my house at the back of the development, my next door neighbours were away which gave the b******** long enough to work on the lock.
Attached is a picture, it is a terry dolan and very individual, it has been reported to the police. I will be willing to pay a reward for the safe return of my bike or any information leading to the safe return.
I have attached a picture so if anyone sees it please please ring the police or let me know, it is a high value bike and it is in beautiful condition, i have even kept the plastic sticker over the campig bar :(
someone out there is not treating this bike with the respect it deserves and I am gutted. it is also quite a small frame as i am only 5"5 not many men are going to be able to ride this bike comfortably.
