Pateks are the RR of watches and if it is indeed the real deal, your Dad might have just bequeth you with something which in monetary terms quite significant. As the others said, go to the jewelers and have it looked at. Never dealt with a Patek but Rolex-es and Omegas usually involves removing the back plate to verify them :) Best of luck!

Jon,
Be honest and try not to take the mickey out of forumers and make yourself looki like a complete XXXX (insert appropriate 4 letter word here as you wish).
You just only joined in August and already have the honour of being mentioned in the Bad Traders thread, your previous gaffe coupled with this one doesn't speak too kindly of you.
Your options:
- Clean up your act;
- Keep up your antics and see how far you could go
It's your choice ;)

Tronkys: This might help. It is in between your current 58 and your ideal 62, 60cm steel track frame :)
Benjam: Referred your frame to him prior to this but he's kinda a racist-cyclist and prefer steel to alum!!! LOL! :D
the frame's not modern (circa 1992) and aluminium will change your mind. Come down the track on the 11th and ride it.
Might not fit your description but size wise it might be yours, Dolan Alu 61cm on sale in this forum.
Regards,

One that got away from me, I think Jim put in a PM offer and seller was willing to end it at 300, overlooked that and when I realised it, the price was already pass the 200 quid mark which at that point I dont think the seller would end it. But I still put in a bid, a tad shy of 300 but yeah, should have paid a little more attention to the EB/CL page...
There's another Raleigh I currently have my eye on, owner unwilling to sell, but I have asked for first DIBS if he does... Skip find btw! LOL!
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I was tempted to stick a bid in... it was a tad too small, even for me!

Huh? Shop's empty...

(technically not posted by the owner :P ...)

Not too friendly are you? Yes, they have funny threading and yes, they are not 531, SLX etc... But not everyone is after brands, lightness etc.
Some just want a bike, some might want the frame just because it is Ukrainian. ;)
google mate! plenty of stuff on internet about it, and if you're new to all this don't go for an old soviet frame.

Might be a good starting point for a HUGE beater/polo bike :) Might just need to confirm that both stem and seat post are not stuck

Your Question:
People had this discussion about the raLEIGH track that went foor 473 PUNDS and originally had a bin of 300....
That if the bin price is good and you really want it why put in a bid ?
Just BIN. Somebody put a bid in and the 550 bin is gone. Not that i'm buying it mind.
The Answers:
TBH was there even a BIN? When I saw it, first bid was already in for 0.99, and the BIN was deactivated. Doesn't matter now, it is now off the market and I can keep my dosh... LOL!
The offer was in pm but I couldn't afford it with it being summer and holidays etc, I put it up here to see if anyone else fancied a punt. A little gutted I didn't go for it now, oh well its still summer.
Happy now? I misread Jimm's original post and thought that there was a reserve of 300 on it, and then the BIN was brought up which made me think that I missed the BIN. But as explained above, the owner was willing to end it early and had I paid more attention to what was posted, I would have paid the 300 and ask the seller to end the auction early. Yes, not too good of eBay etiquete but.... :)
On the subject of Raleigh, I already have an eye on another frame and best of all the owner picked it up from a skip! I've told him if he's to part with it, I want first DIBS, pretty decent amount was discussed, but he's not willing to sell! Apart from the fork which looks to be have been painted over, the bike seems pretty good nick, it's not a Ti-Raleigh thou, but still, a pretty nice Raleigh :)

Lol. He means he is from cardiff (in wales)
I doubt there will be polo tomorrow, for one it's friday, secondly it's the day before the worlds.
Yuppers, very mindful of both and I knew it was a longshot :)
...
LOL! I'm still up for the proposed 1 on 1 if you could get your mallet sorted and find a ball. Tennis ball won't do, just too bouncy!

It's a very good fake it is as it has all the pantographed features of a Pinarello I owned that was a similar vintage, i.e. the GP (for Giovanni Pinarello) on the tops of the seat stays and BB shell.
^^^ Sarcasm? :)
I'm pretty damned sure that isn't a fake...the pantograghing is correct as is the shape of the plinth on the bottom bracket, it all seems fine...down to the seat pin bolt...
Why on earth would you think its a fake? -
Cheeky flame-stoking bump
OoOoOooo... Challenge showdown... Steel v. Alum, Italian v. Brit... Winner takes loser's bike? LOL!
