I was serious about the instalments.
So Wednesday is the highly anticipated day then? :)
If you guys are serious about it, willing to wait till next Wednesday? If there are no takers for 1,200 at a go, then either of you could have it on installments :)
I guess many in this forum would agree that if Batman had a bike, this would be it. Unfortunately, I'm not Bruce Wayne and thus would not do justice hanging it on the wall instead of weaving in and out traffic and running circles around London taxis and buses. The forum gave me a place to belong and thus any help extended is in return for it giving me a space to escape reality :)
wowee. Always admired the decadence of that bike. Props to you coventry eagle for helping out a friend of the forum, and good luck with the sale.
Rabu depan hari penentu, jika masih tidak dijual, mungkin wak pemilik seterusnya? LOL! :)
yup mate, saya bisa mengerti itu.. sangat menghargai dari cerita di atas.. such an integrity you have! go go go!

Don't even tempt me.
4x£300 a week and you have a deal

I totally get why you would hang that on the wall and just drool at it......
I guess if some artist could preserve dead animals and sell them for millions then a well pieced together bike should also qualify as art :)
If you have to split can I have first dibs on the tri-spoke and the cranks. Thank you
Got cash, could buy it and then split and sell it and keep some parts, anybody would want frame+fork? :D I would probably feel guilt of splitting it, or get stoned by some :D
Splitting is the last resort, but will keep you guys updated about it. Will need some guidance thou on the pricing etc as I never split a bike before let alone something like this.
It's gonna be: 1,200 cash -> 1,200 installments -> 1,200 + P&P and only then the dreaded split. Or I might even decide to keep it ;)
Thanks imp for understanding the guilt of even thinking about splitting such a well matched bike!
arrgghhhh my size isn't it?? don't you wanna split it up?? nice clincher wheels anyway...
Yes your size indeed but I made a promise when I bought it that I will make an offer to the forum (London?) before anywhere else. I know you must be pretty keen on it, especially as it's your size and it comes with the clincher wheels you asked me about. But a promise is a promise :)

Have it off me and pay in instalments? :)
fuck, the voices have started again.
"I can't afford it
I can't afford it
I can't afford it"It was bought off this thread and nothing added to it at all, as a complete bike. Or were you refering to Archie?
is this not sold yet? il take the disc wheel if you split. i got a feeling you might of outbidded me in the last second on ebay for that about 5 months ago! hah ;)

Bodie, I have the tendency to be misunderstood when posting (just trying to keep it simple) and no offence taken.
I've owned parts and never used them, but a complete bike and so quickly flipped?! Did you even have a test-ride to decide you weren't keeping it?
Thanks for backing me up. Part and parcel was helping you out but more than anything else, it was a bike well put together, a brilliant frame with the right parts.
In fact, I really want to keep the bike but couldn't do justice not riding it and it would spend more time hanging in my room (Yes, I hang bikes as art in my room) then being rode/used. So if the sale doesn't go through, I will collect the bike and hang it in my room and hope for a nice sunny day to ride it.
Ben was doing me a favour more than anything here. He knew i needed the money and hoped as much as me that him buying it would give me a chance to get myself sorted and hopefully buy it back.
Unfortunately i'm still broke, as the sale of the Brooklyn showed, so alas, It's time for it to find a new home.
Cheers though Ben, the offer to buy it back was much appreciated.

Here it goes:
The bike is up for sale.
**Price : Just like previous sale,1,200 **
Condition : Just like previous sale, bought it, never rode and still with Scott.Offer to repurchase was first given to Scott who have declined and then to M-X who was the 1st DIBS (I was 2nd) when Scott first put it up for sale.
If you are interested, PM please. First to pay secures. Scott has agreed that the bike can be collected from him once the deal is concluded.
Not willing to split or post YET, but as they say, "Never say never". Will see if anyone is willing to take it whole and local (London) first before thinking of the above 2 option.
Regards,
BenjaminFirst refusal goes to Scott if ever it's going on sale and if Scott gives up his first option on the bike, it will offer the bike on sale on this forum at the same price I bought it off Scott. Take my word for it :)
-
**BID? **This is not eBay and it's either first DIBS or first with cash. Do read the rules and if you are nice enough, do the right thing :)
the wheel is pobably stil availible but 3 of you want it i might need to keep it for another week i will put another post on this thread saying i will post it at an extra cost if we cant sort out who gets it you can bid 50p up every time pics coming soon hopefully

I dont think you will get a better deal elsewhere. I got some of evilBay some time ago for my beater bike, slightly cheaper but not as nice as V.'s
ok so brakes will definately be fine with the pegasus...cheers for that!
Varno, I am currently shopping around but at the moment it is likely I will get back to you on this - cracking deal for handbuilt wheels -

Looking at his other offerings, does seems like he knows his bikes...

poof no longer listed ;)
Look what I found...it's that frame that has been kicking around in his shed for a couple of years, that he didn't buy of ebay last week...
jonny boy, if you are reading this, your remorse doesn't seem deep enough, you merely shifted your bad attitude from the many forums to eBay... tsk tsk tsk...

Nope... Use soft compound pads :) Dura-ace is my choice, but they do hurt the pocket :)
Would they not squeel to oblivion?
NMSW means it has a braking surface but it's just not machined. There are however rims which are " V " but you could still run a brake but it is not that much surface contact between pad and rim. Gradually, there will be more contact once your pad goes [---> V <---/]
I still prefer NMSW whether I am gonna run a brake or not, machining the walls makes it thinner and thus wears out faster :)
so do the 40mm rims not have a flat bit at all for brakes? Surely on an unmachined rim the brake is rubbing against an angle (the V shape)....kind of like this []---> V <---[] (where [] is a brake block and V is the rim and the arrows represent the direction of movement)
-
You can still run brakes on unmachined wheels and you will gradually wear out the painted surface. At least my previous 2 pair of Arayas used to come unmachined and running brakes on them was not a problem at all.
I assume machined means they have a brake surface and unmachined means they can't be used with brakes?
Noob question sorry

I posted this on one of bicic's eBay & LFGSS double offerings:
he is also selling this on the bay, which might complicate your transaction unless he is willing to end it on the bay and honour the offer here. Sorry Bicic, pretty direct, but rules are rules.
His reply:
Hi, yes but I have three frames 2x 59 1x57
So I try sale 2 frames hire and one on ebay and it's my right to do this.
ThanksAcceptable?

Oh Balki,
I never meant that, be nice, in the spirit of the forum, just send the items back and ask for a refund?
Love,
Your friendly fellow forumer
**HELL YEAH NO!!! BRING ON THE FING MOB*****
Kids nowadays needs to be taught a lesson, let's make a ride down to his house, knock on his door and demand speaking to his parents, kinda remind me of *****!
jonny boy: you better make sure your parents are seated in front of the tv 24/7 till we appear, an angry mob could soon turn you from neighbourhood darling to neighbourhood-blacksheep/outkast, nothing malicious, a xerox could do wonders :)
