Hi guys,

What Lacquer is best to use on a fame to give a hard wearing varnished look.

I have been finding that the spray ones are a bit crap and don't really protect the paint at all from chipping / scrapes.

Any advice much appreciated.

Custom Ice white fixie bike.

Having lovingly put this bike together I have quickly realized that single speed is not for me (due to the type of routes I cycle )and I am selling it to fund new bike projects that are more to my riding style!

Steel frame with Horizontal drop outs so you can adjust tension on chain should you wish to change gearing ratios. There are a few marks on the frame from its previous life, though nothing major, overall good looking clean frame. The frame is 55cm and would be suitable for anyone 5’7’’ plus, I’m 5’10’’ and find it a great size for me.

New bottom bracket just fitted to replace the standard one that normally dies after a few miles on the factory bikes (Hollow sealed VP comps bracket)

DMR black peddles

New rear wheel hub with Flip-flop hub (convert from freewheel to fixed by simply turning the back wheel over the other way)

Continental tires 700x23C

New crane creek break lever

Re taped (Specialized ) drop Fuji handlebars and headset (very light weight)

New seat post (a few marks from adjusting height) and red post clamp

Rear wheel is Omega Mach1

Front wheel is lightweight alloy Vuelta Airlite

I'm looking for £350 ono to cover the cost of all the components I put into this, since putting it together I have cycled 16 miles, so most of the parts are as new but they are used.

This is what i have done with the Red 501!

Alas it is no longer red :) Wenf for a vintage brown / yellow look which I think works ok.

Not bad for a weekends work if i do say so myseslf.
