you can pencil me in matt ..
thing is, my big product launch will be 2 weeks after the bristol tourney, so i'm really not sure if i'll have the time ... and i'm definately not up to tourney team standard of polo ... but i would like to be able to make it along for the craik.
if it makes the difference between being able to register 2 teams or not, then i reckon the best bet is to put me down for the event ... also might work out nicely if Ed (or someone else) finds that they can make it along at the last minute, then they can take my place.better get sally's brakes sorted, and do some practicing then.

thats the one phil .... i did get the feeling it was likely to be popular with the local feral youth .. not sure about a winter night's ride back home with polo gearing either !
... and it looked quite big at first glance .. but if you've already checked it out that's fine..
..could be a great tourney venue though ...On that subject .... surely we're in an ideal spot to host a Northern Open tourney ... relatively easy for glasgow/ edinburgh, manchester york etc ... or has all this been talked about long ago

@raysmuckles
sweet ... are you the sole bidder there then ? ...
I was worried that the round trip to Halifax would prolly cost more than the bikes ... and was wondrin what to do with the other one if i did get it ... so if you wanna 50-50 split i'm in -
they're both 21" frames, so maybe too small for you matt .... i don't think they're all that old either ... folks were still building these kinda things up till the early eighties ... and i bet the geometry hasn't changed at all since the early fifties, so it may not be the perky, quirky polo bike i think it should be ... i'll keep watching it anyway

bot sure if anyone on the forum'll be interested, but before i ebay it, first dibs to the tune ... MCS 24" cruiser ..frame stripped back to polished Aluminium .. pretty much as it came outa the box about 6 years ago ... very little use, mostly commuting... a few scratches ... no dings ...black anodising worn off the rims
it was actually a pretty serious cruiser in its day ... think i paid about £350 for it and had to wait like 6 weeks for it to be imported from the states.
.. heres a test report
http://mcsbicycles.com/joom/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=121&Itemid=1and heres what it originally looked like .. (although he's tricked it out a bit with some nice cranks)
http://www.bmxtalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28476i've returned it to its stock format, ie removed the front brake, cos I'm selling it as a bmx.
oh yeah its running a 20T freewheel for polo at the mo, the original 17T freewheel cog is here, or theres a 18T track cog for the suicide fit.how much ... not too sure, but the plan is to use the cash against some sexy 700c wheels in future (or a 700/650 combo) ... but i'd probably put a reserve of £50 or £60 notes on ebay
..... or maybe just a straight swap for some trick wheels ... whatever.... in case you dont know what it looks like, here she is

.... but then i went and fell in love with this ..http://www.identitibikes.com/identitibikes/products-details.php?id=FMIT7FLH

2nite 6.00pm
i'm in ....
..... also checked out the multi use basketball/cricket/whatever court in fenham ... nunnsmoor community centre ? ... corner of brighton grove and studley terr
pretty modern stand alone unit .... wanted to see if you could actually book the thing, with all this talk of a possible tourney etc .... anyhow, no can do .. its a public use space, so can't be reserved etc, but we can play there just like all the other kids if we wanna ... either way its a bit small, but could be an option if the gosforth hq goes tits up for any reason. -
sounds like it could be worth trying ... chat about it at polo tomorrow
... you wouldn't happen to have a cassette removal tool for the Maillard 5 speed that's fitted to on my 70's raleigh ... cos the other option is to run the existing wheel as fixed, that way at least i can slow down !
