I can do most gardening stuff, ive done it as a job in the past.
I own a good petrol hedgecutter, spades etc. Have a decent knowledge of plant care (especially fruit trees/vegetables).
Dont have a car though.
Plant care is not essential as I think they are all dead!
What time of year is best to start working on the garden, Bassicly I need what appears to be a mass of weeds removed from the bottom of the garden as I have not a clue, I could arrange you and your tools to be picked up but you might wanna pop round and have a look first? -

The scrap man cometh!!!!!
Spent the day stripping the Dawes and the OLMO.... Gutted I have to go back to work next week.....
Took The dawes up the road to get powder coated so that should be back next week OLMO of to Mercian for a posh Job!!!
Such a delicate frame. If only one was any good at photography.
Anyhow while driving home daydreaming thinking I had best clear the garage out as my Missus is running out of patience with "our" Bike collection, Turning into the grove I almost crashed into the rag and bone man... As he pulled out I noticed a destinctive shape sticking out of his pick up!! So I had to give chase hopping that distinctive shape would just be some gas pipe abomination..... It was'nt...
Twas this!
Reynolds 531 tubing to boot.
Shame about this...
Now residing unceromoniously in my 1973 saabs engine bay in the Garage.
Sadly my old Saab is to rusty to repair so shall be going to the big car graveyard in the sky anytime soon.
allowing me to have my own dedicated Bicycle workshop.
My missus says i can have as many bikes as one can fit in the Garage. -
My klunkers!
Thought I would post these up in here V. Quiet in birmingham forum!
My first conversion! Now gone to be converted back to geared by its original owner!!
I sold him the frame back to purchase this OLMO From sprockets any Info on this bike warmly appreciated I know nothing of it or its history bought as a single speed frame has no braze ons.
Currently being stripped for a repaint and alloy polish session!!
Frame is being repainted by Mercian in Derby... A bit excessive maybe for a bike that I have no I dea of the value of... I f it has any at all but I bloody love riding it!! Its a keeper!
This is my girlfriends Kalkhoff I rescued lovely old shopping bike and saved me having to repaint her last bike Green!
My daily Commuter! Yes she has gears but to be frank all I have done over the winter is squirt oil at them and no problems thus far despite the much mallingned Helicomatic rear hub!
And finally my latest little project I picked up this old Dawes frame for next to nothing on evil Bay Hop to make a nice little cruiser... Think Moustach bars and Whitewalls!!
Currently at the powder coaters being painted black... My Guvnor Replica!!
Does any one know what size seat post would fit the Dawes... I tried my 26,8 but its a touch to big?
Im also after a nice low geared front cottered chainset as I plan to cruise this baby with no brakes.
Cheers.

Ok - maybe its a little soon then to book in the next BHX beers for this week, so:
Lets kick off the New Year session on the 14th January - 6:30pm.
It gives us over a week to round up the usual suspects.I will however, be in Digbeth for a beer on Friday afternoon/early eve. Tap me up if you are about.
Is this going to be at the spotted dog?

Hi Guys and girls!!
I have been lurking for a while but its the new year so time to get out and about riding!!!
Im have got hold of an old dawes frame im building up... Im after a cottered crankset and chain wheel and some cheap and nasty weinman or simillar brakes which would reach a 27" wheel.
Regards

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for the warm reception at BHX Beers, Any Newbies (Like myself) Who Is a bit nervous of turning up can cast those worries aside.
Was good to meet some like minded new folk interested in cycling and make some plans for further events and rides in the near future.
Looking forward to coming down and checking out the Bike polo but got dragged to Co-op this morning!
Genuinely looking forward to the next round of BHX Beers next month!
