Yep I've had a read, it was Sheldon that convinced me to give fixed a go!...However the current wheels on the bike are awful!! Rusty, need trueing, very dented rims, and stop with a crunch when you try and spin them - so I don't think it would be worth converting them!...Also I have no idea how to re-dish a wheel...So I thought it may be easier to get some already set up.
Still hopeful, someone out there must have some cheap wheels knocking around? :-)

Hi there!
I am currently building up a bike for my runaround at uni. I'm desperate to go fixed but I'm on a really tight budget!
Just wondering if any of you guys can fix me up with a cheap fixed rear wheel?
I want the bike to be as un-nickable as possible so the more banged up and old the better!
My budget is about £30-40.
I live in Dereham so could pick up from Norwich most evenings
...Or failing that any advice on where I might find such a wheel locally?
Thanks...sorry for being an uneducated newbie! :-) Jess -
Thanks for the info, that's really helpful.
...With that in mind if anyone's got just a cheap rear wheel on offer perhaps they'd let me know?
There are several very good bike shops in Norwich, but I don't really want a new wheel or I'm afraid my bike will be a real target for theives, but I will try posting something in the Norwich subsection in case anyone local can help.
Ta again for the advice :-) -
Hi!
I am currrently building up an old 80s racer for my runaround at uni.
I'm desperate to go fixed but I'm on a really tight budget.
I know it's a long shot but I just wondered if anyone's got any really old fixed wheelsets lying around they'd sell me? I don't want anything new or flash because I want the bike to be as un-nickable as possible. The older and more banged up the better...as long as they work just about ok!
Also I live out in near Norwich so they'd probably have to be posted :-(
My budget is about £50 postage included.
Sorry if this is really unrealistic, I am definitely a uneducated newbie at all this.
Any thoughts or advice very welcome! -

I guess this might already have been mentioned but 'My Tracks' is a great android app for training etc. I use it every day and track my cycle ride to and from work - Uses the GPS to tell you cool stuff like your top speed, elevation gain etc (cool for people like me without a bike computer thingy).
I have a desire and it doesn't seem to hard on the battery either...
Sorry if this has already been mentioned...expecting lots of newbie comments... ;-) -
Bought the bike below off ebay yesterday evening. It's a 1987 Marlboro Montreal. Seems in good condition and (to me) a pretty bike to look at.... but no-one else was interested!! Nobody else bidded and I got the bike for £65 postage included. Am I missing something? Seems pretty cheap! Any thoughts welcome! :-)

Boardman Road Team Carbon Ltd Edition
Old Falcon Racer wich I found in my cousin's barn :-)
Even older racer I bought from my neighbour - bit crappy but it introduced me to the joy of road biking so I love it anyway :-)
1987 Marlboro Montreal racer I bought off ebay yesterday...to turn into a singlespeed.
Schwinn mountain bike that I never ride!
Sorry to post again (posted on your other thread too!) but are you selling the wheels with the red tyres? If so how much? (with postage)
