I'd like to think that there are more people like Nikola roaming the streets buying up stolen goods in order to return them to their rightful owners, sort of Robin Hood-esque in a way.
not really, i was on the way to pub.
and doing this for the first time, considering the "heads up" ive been given for this so far, i'll never do that again or wont even bother posting it on lfgss. there are other ways anyway, thank god. -

right - like say oh it was this big guy in tracksuit and it was in east london, yeah, im sure you can track him down easily. no problem, happy to help.
so good to know there are people like you that offer an actual solutions to a problem. if i find the owner (which i hope) i'll tell him your suggestion and im sure he'll send you a thank you email. -

racist.
what? unlike giving the thieving twat £60?
racist and racist.
obviously returning the bike to it's rightful owner would be a really good thing to do, but in buying the bike you've given a thief £60. i get the feeling that you were posting on here not in hope of finding the owner, but more in an effort to get us all to say 'WOW, you're a REEEEAAAALLY nice person!'
bit of a waste of £60 if you ask me... just sayin like.errr no. i dont expect to get any ovations. i thought that this is actually quite a common thing, as my friend had his bike returned that way too and it was through forum. i obvs expect the owner to give me the 60 quid back as its a small price to pay if you can get your bike worth 300 quid back.
oh also, im not even gonna comment on those racist accusation, sorry - below me.
i dont give a damm if you think im a nice person or not. care to help someone that had their bike stolen? no? go bitching on other thread then.
lets just try to focus on why we're on this thread - that is if you know anyone that had their bike stolen, care to help in any way, otherwise give me a break
-
WTF?!?!?
I can't believe you paid someone for a stolen bike, in an attempt to return a bike to its rightful owner, because if you hadn't bought it, someone else would have 5mins later!
Why didn't you just d-lock their face in, lock them to a bike rack and hand them over to the police? Massive fail imo.
You're clearly no better than a bike thief yourself.
if this is ironic, LOL.
yeah i'm about 5ft3 not sure if i was any good in face to face kombat. will try next time tho, my kryptonite's itching for it.

Given that she has knowingly handled stolen goods, decided not to tell the Police anyway, despite knowing the bike was stolen, and lined the thief's pockets with £60, I doubt the Police will be that impressed.
I didnt decided not to tell police - where did you get that from? Did i mention that? i dont think so. i'm doing all i can...i posted this call here, on facebook, gumtree and i'm going to contact bike retailers, theft force and when i have time i'll pop in to police as well altho im not from dalston so depending if i have my way there.
since its only happened last night and ive been busy all day i really cant devote myself to this search. just thought you guys might help instead of just getting rowdy with me.wow. maybe you should report me to police after all, since im loading thief's pockets with 60 quid and handling stolen goods?

Hey guys,
I bought bike last night in Dalston from a dodgy bloke, it's charge mixer. He was selling it for 60 quid and it was obviously stolen so I bought it in hope it can find it's owner again.
So if its you or you know someone who got their bike stolen yesterday or previous day, hit me up: 07894986667
I'm not asking for any reward or anything but you'd obviously have to pay me those 60 pounds back and give me a good description of said bike.thanks!

For all we know you could have stolen the bike yourself.
Nah just kidding. ; )
Have you checked the stolen bikes thread?
Just posted there too. thanks for the tip.
