You do need some form of foot retention when riding fixed. Especially if you only have a front brake as you are relying on your legs as the rear brake. Use the straps and get used to them, otherwise you should really have a rear brake.
advice noted...ill get the straps. I'll just have to learn how to use them along with learning fixed.

so a bit of an update...i decided to
not go the cheap route, and although
i've made some saving buying some
things second hand, i'm gonna get
what i want and if its new then fine.so with that in mind...i got a set of Halo
Aero track wheels, all black...its not thin
and its not too deep, its perfect.also, got a Alipna fork, second hand, but
unused off a Dolan pre cursa, so really its
new just cheaper.the final peice is the handlebars...and i've
decided on the Cinella pepper risers. So
will buy that over the weekend and should
have it all built early next week.i guess, then i can start learning how to ride
fixed gear! -

so...sorted a few parts today...all black.
i got a seat and seat post, cranks and
chain ring, BB...all for about £100
Now all i need is parts for the front
end of the bike...so fork, brakes,
and handle bars.on the wheels front, putting in my
order for V-Sprint wheels...40mm rear
and 21mm front, all black.I'll update with pictures once i put the
current parts on the bike...I'm now glad
I'm doing this...it is very enjoyable! -
so, as the title says, everything in Black...
Carbon Fork - something like the Alpina forks 1 1/8 threadless. I need at least 18-20cm on the steerer tube - SORTED
handle bar stem - 1 1/8 steerer side and 25.4 at the handlebar end - SORTED
Riser handle bars - like the Nitto high riser bars
Front Brake - like the Dia Comp's - SORTED
Brake Lever - like the Dirty Harry (Dia Comp) - SORTED
i'm pretty sure this is the full list of what i need for the current build. If you have these, please let me know.

ok...i've now seen too many pictures
of deep profile rims...and i'm back to
my original thoughts on the bike. The only either design dilemma i'm having
is handlebars...either drop bars or risers.
Both will be used the same way, so drop bars
wont get the kind of use they should, its purely
aesthetic. The biggest determinant will be how
the frame feels and how high the seat has to be
and how much i want to bend over whilst riding.BTW...thanks for the all assistance so far.

Yeah, that looks nice. The front wheel ill have
To get something machined so i can put a break
on it.I like the idea of V-Sprint...so may do a 40mm
for the back and 21mm front. As for second hand option...i totally get your point
I'm still working out what i want...and checking
Classifieds section at least 10 times a day!
is that a Cinelli Pepper risers with grips?
