I only like the really expensive hats and when faced with the best part of £100 for one I usually spend it on parts instead. I do have one though, Specialized somethingorother, comes up reasonably big so maybe a brand worth considering. Looks ok for a lump of polystyrene, it's for when I want to hang out with clubs who insist on that sort of thing, or for when I'm going anywhere near trees. Otherwise I assume I'm immortal until proven otherwise.

Much of a muchness, they have to meet whatever standard it is to sell them. Make sure it fits, they're not all the same when it comes to sizing.
Specialised (on Connaught road) are a good LBS, I'd support them. Or just try it on in another shop then buy off the internet, it's quicker and cheaper than getting anywhere in Norwich to order one in.

Heading east to hemsby, up round the coast to stiffkey, staying as close to coast as possible all the way, then back roads back into Norwich. Can offer free parking if you want to start in Norwich.
Pace won't be much over 15 average, that's a fixed-friendly speed. As mentioned, it's more about distance and time in the saddle than speed.

Yeaaah, want to get my race face on in prep for Sunday so something short and fast.
Reepham perhaps? That's a good straight run.
