Still waiting for Planet X to get the crankset in. And Wiggle to send me the fittings for the mudguards as they didn't bother including them first time.
May need a different 27.2mm seatpost though, didn't read the bit that said 25mm layback. Anyone want to trade something black with no layback for one of these? http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/SPRICOMP/ritchey-comp-seatpost

Alongside this, cyclists may need more support. In Thorpe, the council is trialling a scheme which may be rolled out elsewhere. There, drains have been covered over, to allow cyclists to ride along beside the pavement. And new cycle logos have been marked out and road centre lines removed. Other councils have trialled similar schemes and found they significantly reduced speeding. The Thorpe Scheme is costing £37,000 to trial for a year.
That's £37,000 well spent, Thorpe Road is now a pleasure to cycle along

But then you'd get people being let off because they need to drive for a living. This really happens, there are over 10,000 people still driving legally with 12+ points (source)
Of course the idea that they should have thought of that before they broke the law again seems far too complex to wrangle with.
D-lock justice FTW. Except you know damn well you'd be caught and done for it. Pretty hard to do from beyond the grave too.

Gasp runs until half 8 if you want to watch it all (programme here). Will probably get bored when everyone is painfully competent.

I just tell Google Maps the start and end points, select walking mode to avoid main roads and adjust by dragging the blue line about.
Very rarely follow the actual route, just write down place and road names as pointers. Is Walsingham the place with the shrine? I once got held up there when I had to stop for a pilgrimage passing through.

I was pondering the same thing just the other day and decided on this route. ie as short as possible without going on main roads.

The annoying thing is that when you think you've got your riding position set you have to ride for 40+ miles until you find out It's wrong.
Tru dat. I thought my problem was with twisting it but turned out to be pulling too hard up hills.
You're riding geared aren't you? Can you wait til it starts hurting then change gears but hold speed to see if cadence affects it?

Things that make my knee hurt:
- Saddle too high
- Saddle forward position - had it too far forward which encouraged me to pull up hard.
- Cleat position forcing leg into unnatural position - this was hardest to change as it never felt wrong.
Used to take cod liver oil and glucosamine but not convinced it helped. A decent support bandage helped a lot though, for recovery though, not for riding in.
