Teapots, can you remember what the bike was like? May help us identify which particular one of the many bag attached to seat options that were on display!
I loathe having stuff on my back, but if I ever go any distance in that kind of heat again I may have to suck it up and get a camelback thingumy.

1980's Peugeot Mixte at the moment. A very kind friend got it up and running for me, and a bit of adjustment / customisation has occurred to get it looking more like I want it.
When i've got the fixed gear up and running (which requires a new job so could be a while realistically) that will also be an 80's Peugeot but with a horizontal top tube. Smaller frame as I also have the arm/torso length issue. My current bike is a bit long in the reach although otherwise fine, but I'm having a spot of bother with the ulnar nerve which is most likely related to that. Worth getting fitted if you can run to it.

If it could potentially bring more people out on rides, and get people feeling more comfortable on the forum, well, I believe those are good things.
Most likely there would be a positive and friendly response from the chaps just like on this thread where they checked in, wished us well, offered handy tips, and helped out with the recces.
A ladies forum may bring the gents in droves, like a moth to a flame ;)
On another note, I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures from this ride. Good selection so far. :)

What I was trying to say but came out wrong in the message I ended up deleting was that I really enjoyed having a day out with the girls, regardless of pace or any such concerns, and that I hope there are more!
Basically, I like riding my bike (pretty sedately at times) and doing so with good company, whether it be a mixed group, gals only, or boys in drag.
We'd certainly attract a lot of attention!

Garmin is such a good plan, but for next time I'm going to experiment with taping the directions to my bike frame. A mixte provides a rather good platform for it after all.
Definitely up for a Cambridge jaunt.
There was also talk of camping. I have a voucher for millets and would like an excuse to buy a tent :)
I feel surprisingly fresh today. Hungry, but fresh. Obviously didn't work hard enough!

Back safe and sound :)
Brilliant day. I had a super time, despite the near black out. After leaving town the riding was a good pace, tunes en route, excellent company... just great! Thanks so much Clefty and Stix for all your hard work. And special mentions to those that kept me company after the dizzy spell and on the bitchling hike, and the train home. Much appreciated.
Great to see you again and meet some new ppl.
Now I must go and stuff my face with the epic spread my friends have thoughtfully saved.
All in all a total win of a day.

@clefty I love the imagery that conjours!
I'm thinking of swinging past lmnh on my way to the shops for their free safety check today. Hopefully time will allow for it. The tyres on my bike are older than me :s
I'm going to buy more lycra I think. Will probably come out of Evans looking like a sky team fanatic.Cannot wait to be dipping my toes in the sea!

It may not be able to help with the ditchling shot though. I doubt its that comprehensive.
