Is Mitcham Eastfield too far south for you? Her name is Rebecca and she's a runner with Herne Hill Harriers. She's qualified and I like her style, but I am highly biased so don't take my word for it.

I have one of those (or a close cousin) bought about 2 or so years ago. They are bright enough for country lanes with no street lights. I've only used mine on night rides. A thumbs up from me.

Now that I'm 'a club runner' (again), this Thursday is out as I'll be crawling up a hill breathing heavily (for what passes as running).

Ferry companies seem to be hit and miss in how they treat cyclists. On my recent trip we were the last ones off the ferry in Dover, even though it wouldn't have delayed them to let us off first, as the cars/lorries went straight into a traffic jam.

I might suggest the "whine about it on the ferry company's Facebook" option for my mates in The Fridays. We were unsuccessful getting more than 6 cycle spaces for on the Newhaven/Dieppe ferry back in July, even though there was more than enough spaces for bikes. Cars are more favoured during school holidays, apparently.

Without seeing the film it sounds like she pulled the colour card to get off the hook and deny responsibility. Unpleasant, but don't let it put you off trying to deal with a similar situation again.

I'm more concerned that the cycling staff are all male and why this is deemed ok.

Undertaking cyclists. Please JUST STOP!!!!

Calling myself out for a stupid manoeuvre that could have gotten me sick leave I don't want right now. Pay attention at all times!!!

The cycle lane is to the left of the redesigned road layout. It was a little disconcerting to come across it and I'm sure lots of drivers were a little thrown too. I did wonder if the lanes were big enough for lorries and buses to navigate safely, but I guess they will be.

So. SRAM 10 speed shifters plus SRAM front and rear derailleurs can work with Shimano 10 speed cassette?

Hmm. I might need to rethink this as I've only just upgraded the rear derailleur, cassette, new chain and brakes to 105s. Current shifters are Sora which I've long disliked so I'll probably change that to a 105 and stick some shims in them.

Are SRAM shifters compatible with Shimano components or would I need to change to a SRAM groupset? I'm looking to upgrade the shifters on my 'ancient' and little used Trek.
