Looks a pleasant, if undulating route, my parents live close by and most of it looks fairly pleasant.
Just off route is the super-instagrammable St Thomas Beckett Church just the other side of the military canal. Andyp is right, Winchelsea is probably worth a visit.
In the other direction out of Rye is Tillingham Wines if you fancy some slightly pricey English wine and food. Which would also help pay my salary :) as they are a customer. The view there is very good.

I thought I'd change it up from pasta with polenta on a recent trip. Had to chuck it as I just couldn't get through it, the stuff really goes far...
In Italy the Knorr meal packs are actually really good. Available almost everywhere too I think. I was sceptical, but the minestrone one I had was pretty good, and I somewhat regret not buying a few more, especially the risotto ones. Then just add some veg/bread for a slap up one pot feast.

It was a long time ago, it seemed a strange process but like all bike shuttles which you think might never turn up in the god forsaken place you are directed to, it did and I don't recall too many issues. No doubt they've made it more difficult in the +10years since I did although it actually looks pretty simple according to that page!

Hard to say if the original chair enquiry is about JB's personal definition of "camping camping" or some other type one might expect to find on a London based cycling forum. Guess we'll have to wait to find out!
I took a lightweight "camping" chair with me on a recent "bike camping" tour and despite my previous disdain it was an was essential part of the trip and not super bulky. Although I don't think it would be great for those looking for back relief :(
