My trusty Charge is still going after almost 10 years. I'm putting a King Carrier on and think it's a good time to put wider tyres on... I'm still on 28's, similar to the original, just wondering if anyone has experience with the Tap, a plug or something else with a 'Whisk' front fork. What's the maximum width of tyre I could try... Also recommendations on a good tyre to carry a load and a bit of commuting?
I'm doing some more to get her into shape as a load bearing bike... Velo Orange Montmartre bars, reverse brake levers etc... Should be a bit of craic.

The concept of a 'roadway' doesn't exist in British English; it's called the 'carriageway' over here. Also, cycle lanes (not paths) are generally found in the carriageway.
In this case, it would also seem as if the cycle lane in the background is the one in the opposite direction to the way in which the riders are going. :)
Ah, I see. Thank you for the thourough explanation.
It would also seem that the elevated gentleman in the photograph is not wearing his seatbelt!

I have been toying with the idea of putting a front rack on my Charge Tap & have narrowed the options down to 3.
I will eventually swap the parts over to a different frame & intend to upgrade parts as I go, but want a rack that will look & work well as I upgrade.
Heres the bike:
Heres the rack options:
Please help me choose... will a front carrier look shite on this bike? My main needs are carrying laptop & work stuff, shopping, stuff for the beach, beers etc...

easy & quick access to locks.
a retaining strap so the bag doesn't slip while cycling, but allows you to swing it around to your front for easy access when stopped.
some sort of lights?
include a charger for phone etc... as couriers don't have access to a socket on the road (solar, kinetic, dynamo etc.)
reflective materials - the tweed run organisers had a small amount of relective thread woven into their gear so that even though it looks like tweed - it has subtle reflective qualities in the dark -

Mine are Dia Comp... the original levers are quite basic as it is. Sure I'll give them a go and they can always be changed back...
