Poland's mountains are pretty heavily walked when there is no snow - I sometimes go running in the Karkonosze and sometimes it is a pain pushing past people all the time. If I was biking I would do it first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds.
It does depend on the routes you choose of course.
I would like to go to the Mazurian lakes - Mainly because I haven't been to that part of Poland but also because I'm too lazy for mountains. -

Just sent my frame to be powder coated, but they do not lacquer the frame after the powdercoat. Is there anything to gain from rattle canning a clear coat over the top or is it a waste of time and money?
I am going for black, as the place I am using has a ridiculous waiting list for anything else, what should I use for lug lining? Enamel paint and a fine brush? Is white the best bet in a black frame? -

There are a few information leaflets about bike touring in poland, but I have never looked at them. I get the feeling that they were advertising daytrips on offroad trails rather than a load up your tent and panniers.
I would be a little hesitant to do the latter here. Ok, I am a little chicken, but road conditions and exceptionally inconsiderate drivers make it a gamble I am not willing to take. This site offers a few bits of advice - www.rowery.org.pl/practicalities.html

Couldn't seem to find a thread discussing this and was interested in the forums opinion on cars using headlights during the day.
In many countries it is compulsory, and since leaving the UK I have got quite used to it. Before I left, I could see no reason why but when I return to the UK it is clear to me that vehicle visibility is significantly better when lights are run at all times. On my bike I run a flashing front and rear during the day and I have no doubt that it has helped on several occasions.
What do you think, lights on or off during the day?

I had a root canal and two weeks of whitening treatment done here in Poland. Getting ready for my wedding sorting out the tooth that my uk dentist didn't want to touch for free.
I remember going to my final treatment with about 2000 złoty in my pocket(about 500GBP at the time) and feeling quite stupid when they asked me for 160zł for the whole treatment. The dentists here are great and it is definately cheap.

Sounds reasonable, there is a review here which says that there are a few alignment problems with this crankset, but it can't be worse than the way my SE came.
The difference between front and back was over 11mm.
http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/chainset/product/track-chainset-10-36966I am going to be forced to replace the lot soon as the parts have worn quite fast, that lasco may well do the job for me too as a cheap fix.

I just got my first singlespeed bike but I'm unsure what gear ratio I should use. currently it's 42/16 but I dunno if that's the best bet for me.
the bike is only meant to be a pub bike and for the odd blast about town.
as the bike (se draft lite) is a cheap hack I don't want to spend too much on it so I'll probably stick with the 42 chainring for now but will I improve the ride at all by moving to a different freewheel (will also have a crack at fixed when I eventually get some spd's sorted) if so what sort of tooth count should I go for? more or less than 16?
I have ridden 42/15 for a year now with no problems on a fixed SE draft lite.
The bike is a piece of crap(soon to become my wet weather only bike) but will do great for pub runs.
I do feel the need for a bigger gear sometimes, but the chainring is hard to replace on the SE - you need to replace the cranks, and maybe the bb to get the parts to fit. -

Haha, this was a while back - no I never bothered to confront her. She got a new boyfriend and moved to the other side of town, so I rarely have to put up with her any more. It's a kind of win win situation - She has found somone who can put up with her, and I don't have to see her.
I'm sure she would have loved to argue about the cross, but I think we would argue on the same side, so it wouldn't be too much fun.
Really, there are so many stupid arguments here, it seems to be more popular to argue than to do anything to change the shit that goes on - The cross was one thing, but the aftermath of the Russian report on the crash is fairly amusing too. People are still trying to come up with conspiracies and not accept that it happened due to Polish negligence. -

I'm sick of dust on my negatives. Anybody know an easy way to dry them to avoid dust. it is turning into a really time consuming task.
