I had another look and I have about 1cm of clearance on the front, but the back is not as easy - not only would the mudgurad have to come off, but it might even catch the frame.
I think I'm going to have to visit a better bike shop which actually stocks winter tyres. I remember the guy laughed a little when I said that I would ride through winter last year. Pissed me off already 3 times giving me shit, or the wrong size parts. Only problem is finding somewhere. Thanks for the links, I'll read up a bit and when I end up getting some I'll be back.
ThanksI'm in Poland, and last year we had plenty of snow, which in some places was cleared and in others not.

So I guess it is my turn to get flamed for my lack of knowledge about bicycle parts, so here goes.
Winter is fast approaching and I am going to need some suitable tyres for snow. Winter here is pretty tough (-20-25c) and I know that I am going to have bike issue.Last year I rode all winter on a mountain bike with an offroad front tyre and it was interesting at times, but doable. Now I have a fixed gear bike(a crap one!) and my tyres are smooth as anything and I really doubt their ability to serve me at all in the winter.
The tyres are marked 28-622, which I assume means I can substitute tyres with the same code. My only issue is about the clearance of any tyres I buy. How will I know if they will foul the frame?I see in this thread a few tyres http://www.lfgss.com/thread10343.html
Will I be safe to just order them or would I need to go to a bike shop to check.I am kind of reluctant to go to the 'best' bike shop here as they fuck up everything I ask them for.(Size wise) usually they just say, yes it should work, and when I get back home, it doesn't.
What do you think? -

I'd love a proper light meter, and if I had the cash I would get one in a second. Well I do have the cash, but I cannot explain to my wife that I 'need' one after I just spent 200 on a scanner!
I'd buy a used old model, but I guess you never know how accurate they would still be(Only one of my 5 cameras still gives good readings as the cells are dead)
Do you think I could get away with a lux meter plus a conversion table or would they not be accurate enough?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIGITAL-LIGHT-METER-50000-LUX-PHOTO-HOLD-BACKLIGHT-NEW-/330487440737?pt=UK_Photography_OtherAccess_RL&hash=item4cf2962561 -

How on earth did we get to circumcision? There are plenty of men who regret the fact that they were circumcised and complain of loss of sensitivity and I couldn't justify doing it on health grounds as I believe that the information fed to people is grossly exaggerated(mostly originating from the states)
Have you ever seen a baby be circumcised? No active nerves my arse. Thats why they have to tie down their little arms and legs to a board to do the procedure, and why they scream blue murder.
That is just a whole different topic from punishment though.............it would be quite a severe penalty

My wife loves looking at peoples holiday photos but I hate it. I don't think she realises that it pisses me off when she forces me to sit for an hour doing it!
I wonder what controls peoples reaction to punishment? There are obviously people who think the punishment did them good, some that are opposed to it and some that don't care. Athough I think the punishments were no deterrent for me, I think my parents did an ok job given the knowledge and upbringing they had(strict religious). My sister(also strictly religious) is totally opposed and outraged at my parents about it and has some serious complexes today because of it.
My two younger brothers were raised after the whole physical punishment thing hit the headlines and were beaten much less than I was. They were probably openly less obedient than me(I hid all my wrongdoings) and they didn't care as much. Not sure if that was more about personality or lack of corporal punishment. Probably the former.
As darth vader they dubbed over his westcountry accent. Check out youtube and you will see that they did the same on some of the GCC adverts too!
