No this particular tree has the best spot in the garden its in the north west corner of the garden so it gets sunlight all day and isn't overshadowed at all this time of year. There's a plum tree next to it which seems to be doing fine.

Yes I'd like to keep it if possible there are two taller apple trees just to the left of it and it would be great two have three in a row at the bottom of the garden. I guess I prune after the apples get picked?

Does anyone know what I can do with this apple tree - its about one metre high and its a pain trying to cut grass around or under it and keep weeds at bay. It came with the house when we moved in about 3 and 1/2 years ago and doesn't seem to want to grow. I'm imagining its been this size for some time?

No freewheel already purchased. I'm not keen on the eno cranks, I'd like to be able to change chain rings easily.

44T single chain ring - 1/8" as I'm going to run White Industry freewheel.
It's 68 mm BSA shell and I think square taper will give me best option for getting good chainline. Less than £200 for both would be ideal. Any pointers greatly appreciated

Oki doke, does what's the best in you opinion cut it? I've searched the web and agree there's no general agreement and worse there's little evidence of the pedigree of the advice on forum's a google search directs you too. I thought I'd ask here as your advice is well respected.

Just had my commuter bike nicked from hotel garage in Linkoping, Sweden. Garage has keypad access and doors don't stay open long enough for someone to tailgate without being noticed. Bike was Specialised Rockhopper pro. It was locked with decent but not fantastic Abus D lock through back wheel and frame - bike rack was piece of crap so wasn't locked to that. Inside job I reckon.
Am gutted!
