I'll pass on the details of the fella selling it if you're genuinely interested - he's very much an Alfa man, and the pic above has the car in question in it.
I've always had a hankering for the less favourable motors, and the 145 sits in that category. If money was no object, I'd have a 33 4wd, Thema 8.32 and a Fiat Tipo Sedicivavole too, as I like the Q car thing...
I'm hoping that the files/paperwork in the pics below will demonstrate a level of devotion that will serve as a solid background to my impending ownership.

Apparently it'll need the bonnet doing at some point, and I'll be sure to check the floor plan for a floor, seeing as rust prevention was fairly low down on the list of things to do in a 90's Italian production line. But I've always wanted one, as they're a genuine hot hatch killer - 155bhp and 133mph was pretty damned good back in the day....

So.......
As some of you will be aware, I had agreed to purchase a Seicento Sporting as some sort of 'bucket list' exercise, to be enjoyed before my imminent departure from this life. In short, it was a turkey in the flesh, and to the owners utter amazement I decided to walk away.
In the middle of a field. In Lincolnshire. At 8pm. With no coaches coming back to London until the following day.
If you do end up in a place called Wainfleet, consider staying at the Woolpack - cheap rooms, and full English included...
So being despondent, I did the only sane thing a man in my position could do - I bought an immaculate 1999 Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf with 140k on the clock and FMDSH on the rebound! Collecting it at the end of the month from Northampton; anyone for a road trip?

So, you decide to celebrate the end of chemo by buying a modern, usable classic that won’t break the bank - an everyday driver, understated but classy.
You then learn that your cancer is back with a vengeance; all available funding will have to go towards the ‘£3000 every three weeks’ chemo, and that you’ll have to undertake radiotherapy at the same time. Because the fucking NHS.....David Cameron....abolition of rare cancer fund.....blah blah blah....
What do you do, eh?
You buy a Seicento Sporting for £500, that’s what you do. Pick up in two weeks. It’s no TT, but I’ve experience with the breed and other little screamy Fiats, so if I am leaving this mortal coil, I’m doing it in something that weighs 700kg on 13” alloys at 8000rpm.

Hello fella,
Sorry I missed the message earlier in this thread; clearly for you and I it’s been a testing summer...
Glad you’ve still got your sense of humour, and continuing to be dogged in your approach too. Being right in your head is half the battle, and although I know there are inevitably times when you’re on the floor emotionally, I’d wager you’ll be fighting throughout.
Like you, it’s all a bit make or break for me now. Finished six months of chemo 8 weeks ago, but within two weeks felt something wasn’t quite right - bowels weren’t working, abdominal pain, lack of hunger. Lo and behold, found out yesterday the beast is back with a vengeance.
Chemo starts again next Friday, and two months of radiotherapy from Monday. No time to recover from the last lot, feel rough as hell, only enough money for four more treatments at this point; whilst I like a challenge in life, I’m wondering who I pissed off in a previous one....
However, fucking well cycled up Ventoux a week and a half ago, so I think my annual membership to the Hard Cancer Bastards Association might have been automatically renewed this year....
Keep going fella. Don’t stop going.

RX8 is out. Too many horror stories, and everyone I know that’s had one has told me that their mate/brother/dog had a reliable one - intimating that they themselves didn’t. Young family + cancer = no time to waste on a shitshow of a car.
I’m not keen on the 3.2, simply because I don’t think there’s a need. The 1.8 225 is plenty enough for me, plus the 1.8 is known for being bombproof.
Beemers are, erm, not for me. Anything past an E28 Alpina and I’ve no interest. I like soul in a car...
Thanks for the positive vibes about treatment. I fear I shall probably be restarting in the next few weeks, after a couple of nasty discoveries during our two week holiday in the south of France. Which is a bummer, but ce la vie, eh...?
(Rode up Ventoux though. Fuck that for a game of soldiers!)

Afternoon,
Thinking of a practical, ‘future classic’ motor to sign off the chemo, and ending three years of my wife being a blagger student. Got two small kids, need a heated drivers seat for my missing back, and looking for reliability. Thinking either a Mk 1 Audi TT, big standard Quattro at 225hp, or Alfa GT. any experience on either, or other potential motors under £3.2K...?
P.S high miles not a concern with FSH for me, and not audacious is key, s the kids at school are likely to pee on it if so....
