Having done a bit of advanced driver training in the past EYE CONTACT is not, imho, actually about eye contact - it is about the philosophy of eye contact.
So, I am at a road junction, there is a bus behind me, I turn, try to make eye contact with the driver - by trying to make eye contact I am sending a message that not only am I here, I am a human being that would respond very badly to being run over.
You can't expect eye contact, but philosophically, and in the signals we send when we try to achieve it, we are making the roads a better place.
Dont even get me going on the value of the words 'smile' and 'sorry'.
Right, as you were.

I have nothing to do with this job wots so ever, so don't bother asking me, I just saw it out there during the week on the interwebz.

Yes to embracing (limited) aliases, broad commercial direction and best efforts to keep Facebook/Google/Twitter/wider-interweb-searchable-data-on-me (and hence my professional world) away from aspects of my personal life here.
However - and I am not technical - the challenge may be to ensure that I can always have LFGSS info flowing into those accounts such as Twitter for monitoring, however any response and posting back to LFGSS is done outside of those accounts. With the proliferation of software to make individuals lives 'simpler', it may be that the business model is holed by a desire for this separation. It may be that the data gathering on the group as a whole may need to be much stronger, if the idea of not gathering on individual posts/profiles is to hold.
Whatever our reservations about the evils of Google/Facebook et al - the three golden rules of the interwebz will of course still apply despite best efforts:
1) anything you post, or others post on the web about you, never, ever, goes away.
2) if you search, see or stumble across something - someone, somewhere will also know you have
3) our legacy on the planet is now defined by the result of 1+2. -
