Far too much serious riding this year mentioned in the above thread. #smileyface
2011 was when I discovered the true joy of riding a Boris Bike between stations to save 10 minutes walk, why, 'cos I could... And the single speed would sit in my flat gathering dust, cos I didn't want to take it out in case someone knicked it.
Cycling is cycling, and we should celebrate it in all it's forms.

Built in China
Interested to know if looked at other manufacturers and even other countries of origin, and what you found on the price/quality scale for these builds.
Had a discussion yesterday about labour costs in China starting to rise on quality manufactured goods.
Increasing numbers of carbon frames being made of course now in places like South Korea.

Over Christmas discovered I am a culinary God at Beef Wellington, patience and cling film is the secret imho.
Oh and a good chopping technique with the mushrooms, blenders are useless, they make the mushrooms into slurry. You can do the whole thing he day before too, before slamming it in the oven on he day to a round of applause from your guests.

OK, being picky, some of that rear observation is a bit rubbish, there's looking over the shoulder, but I', simply not convinced that the cyclist could tell you what was actually behind them. The parallel is that with advanced driving (where you're supposed to check your rear view mirror every 7-10 seconds) I had an examiner cover up my rear view mirror and ask me to name the colour of the three vehicles behind us in order. Of course I couldn't do it, I was looking in my rear view mirror, I wasn't 'seeing' and 'reading' what was behind me. I shall now return to the meringues.
So I would guess that......BMW may have negotiated (or at least the expectation of) a contra as part of their Olympic sponsorship deals, total cash invested slightly reduced for the vehicle provision expenses, however, the cars themselves can obviously be supplied at cost rather than retail....then resold second hand into the retail market afterwards still at a profit - to avoid hitting second hands cars in the UK I also wouldn't be surprised to see a big lump of left hand drives, which can then be shunted back to mainland Europe.
Just a few thoughts....
