For what its worth (very little I expect), what DK says about ebb and flow of members is entirely correct. The 2.5 year figure is also eerily accurate from my personal experiences.

As some of the forum elders leave, I think we should try harder to welcome new forumengers into the fold. Encourage them to come on rides and to beers etc.
