Kent roll to Rye and back with TTM and the Blackheath velo crew. I cannot recommend this route highly enough, on a day like today there can't be many places more beautiful to ride a bike. The terrain is perfectly varied, with some decent climbing, long stretches of pan flat road which allow you to crack on with avengence, woods, dykes, picturesque villages, kestrels, goldfinches, hawthorn in bloom and importantly, an excellent cake stop. We rode up England's answer to the Koppenberg in Rye, and played dodge the sun and booze befuddled punters milling around outside any pub in any village within striking distance of London. 130 miles all in, reasonable average speed too.

I've done the 160k route of the North Cornwall Tor and it is the hardest ride I've ever done! and that includes 200k plus days in the Alps. Maybe you are a bit like me, in that I can climb <6% ramps all day, but a reasonable amount of >10% will empty my legs in no time. There are many climbs (quite short) at 20% and greater on the N.C.T. and there is very little flat in between the climbs. My Garmin had 3900m of climbing at the end of the ride.
It is beautiful though. Chapeau for getting through it!

Wrongcog - you may be forced to regain your mojo post-haste. Gav, Felix and I had a glorious bimble around the Essex lanes today and it excellent fun, but with a certain gleaming joyfulness missing thanks to your absence. I gather you had some piffling excuse to do with food or something, but really, it won't do you know.
I insist that the next time we have nice weather at the weekend you come out and play. I don't care one bit how slow you are, or how much you mew about it, you're just doing it. Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
etc.

Thanks for the advice, and the offer of help Reece! For some reason photobucket doesn't want to upload them - they maybe too large, so I'm shrinking them down and will try again.
Giant killed by snapped chain. I think it must've caught in the mech when it broke and cracked the seat tube where the mech attaches. I've just heard from Giant, who say that they won't replace under warrenty, so basically it's dead :-(
I may look into repairs, but I'm not sure whether it'll be worth it.
However, I've just ordered a Cannondale Supersix evo to replace it, so not all bad really...
The 'Nago was actually pretty awesome when I rode it yesterday. I wouldn't mind having it as my main bike, but I don't think it'd last long on a diet of Kent's finest Belgian toothpaste - I can tell that it pines for the white roads of Tuscany...

Very beautiful Master Olympic for sale. I bought this a few years ago and replaced the slightly knackered cassette and chain with NOS. Dura-ace. The bike also had an ahead stem with a quill converter. I replaced this with a new Nitto stem - which although not period, looks correct on the bike. It has been hardly ridden since then and basically sits in my sitting room looking pretty. It does, however, ride really well and I took it out for 70 miles around Kent yesterday and it rode beautifully and didn't feel much slower than my carbon monstrosity...
I'm very sad to be selling it, but my crabon frame cracked last week and I need some funds to replace the plastic fantastic. I ought to have spent a little longer cleaning it after the muddy lanes yesterday - so apologies for the imperfect pictures. The frame looks in remarkably good condition for its age. There is a very small patch of surface rust under the top tube where the brake cable enters and a couple of small chips to the paintwork here and there - which I've photographed. The chrome is very good, some slight pitting under the fork crown, but that's to be expected really.
The bike will not come with the tyres in the photo. I will put on some Rubino Pro that have done maybe 600 miles - plenty of life in them. I also ride with one of those odd looking Adamo saddles. This is also not included. I will put the original, very funky, embroidered Colnago saddle back on. The shimano pedals will be replaced with the original, period, red Look pedals (I will include cleats)
So, the groupset is full Dura-ace. It has open-pro rims laced to Dura-ace hubs, a dura-ace seat post, Nitto stem (9cm), 3ttt bars with a titanium finish.
The frame has a 57.5cm top tube (c-c) and 57cm seat tube (c-c) 59cm (c-t).
I am 6' tall and it fits me perfectly. I think a couple of inches either side should be okay, but you're welcome to come and try in any event. I am based in Blackheath and am not very keen on the idea of posting the bike. Nor am I prepared to split at this point. Now £870

^ Please do. The club is starting to grow quite quickly. The routes aren't always as intense as this one, but they're interesting and varied.
