You don't know what you're missing bednarz.. One day you'll fix.. and then wonder why you hadn't done so ages ago
I had my eureka moment today, I went and flipped it. After a nervous first 5 minutes, I kind of got into it... Can't really explain the feeling, but on the way back from the clubhouse I kind of got a lot more confident. I didn't use my back brake to see how it feels, so that when I get up to normal cycling confidence I can take it off, I think I'll defo stick with a front brake though!
Anyway, I'm glad I swapped. Off for a around the Isle of Wight cycle next week, so going to cram in a load of practice so I can tackle that!

Great thread this, I've been inspired to flip it over tonight for a try when I cycle to rowing tonight. Looking forward to it (I have cleats so should be fun)....
Just a quick question though, as a coaster down hill most of the time, what is the correct practice for long / steep down hills? Obviously your feet will be spinning mega quick, is it to just try and control it as best you can? I appreciate thats a bit of a terrible new person question, just don't want to be 1/2 way down a hill shitting myself!

my friend was cycling along once and a bee flew up his nose and stung him. amazingly he didn't crash but his face was the size of a football for about 3 days afterwards
That's the funniest thing I've read this morning! Hope he was okey though...
I hate Bee's. I was stung on the top of the head as a child, and I've had a 2mm bold patch ever since :-(

I used to do triathlons, right up to international standard (for the U18's). Only once for GB mind, in a place called Larabetzu in Spain. I was rubbish at swimming and running though. In fact I did one in cardiff where I was the last person out of the pool (35 odd people), but was the second person off the bike. (and finished 3rd)
I was forced though more than choice as my dad was the chairman of the local triathlon club. As soon as I hit 18 it was see ya later!

I've noticed quite a few Creates around pompey now, they seem to be catching on....
Though there are also some lovely fixies around. Saw a really nice aqua / white one today, didn't get a chance for a proper look unfortunately!
How was the strong island ride? I was planning on going but ended up in Wales!

You see, to me this just looks like snot. Colours make it look cheap (i'm sure it's not) and I can't really see anything appealing.
I do wonder sometimes - if the same frame had Muddy Fox on it or some other low to mid-range bike name, would you still spill some of your man mayonaise on the keyboard?
A good question. It depends what decals Muddy Fox had all over it. I like the small details, and I guess 1/2 of the fact is the brand, and the fact that you know it'll be well made and last. But an interesting point none the less. Branding is a big part of any product.

On the topic of portsmouth :
http://www.loveyourbikeportsmouth.co.uk/
Looks quite interesting. There is certainly a lot of bike culture here (Albert Road and all that jazz).
Does anyone have a picture of what these look like? Seems a pretty good deal, but their website has 'image coming soon' and google / here seems to lack results...
