Yeah i had a quick look and i think you could pay that for original chromed/painted Porsche originals in the much sort after 6" and 4.5" Cal look combo. Those look like original Porsche that have been chromed and painted.
Reps go from a couple hundred to a couple thousand pending quality. Add paint detailing, OG caps, chrome lugs and Firestones and even those will cost you more than my Bug was worth.

Yeah it was really well put together. Aircooled guys know how to fill the arches with taller rubber to achieve the low but not silly slammed stance. The CSP exhaust is a masterpiece as you retain stock ground clearance unlike all the other performance systems that hang way too low.
Shame the scene has gotten way out of reach for regular folks, wheels alone are £8k plus.

Anyone repaired ripped leather furniture?
I picked up three Eames soft back chairs a few years ago as payment for some work. Two EA217 and one EA208. There vary in condition from quite tidy to quite fucked so the intention is to strip and rebuild them using all the best bits to make 2 chairs.
Annoyingly the leather is ripped on all of them so at least two need to be repaired. Getting them professionally reupholstered is definitely off the cards and it looks like getting the leather off the frames to be repaired sympathetically is a mammoth task that involves drilling out the rivets that hold it on to the frame. Which leaves me with patching them up. The bad news is the areas are quite big and one of the rips is essentially a broken seam. The good news is the leather is all the same colour, age, patina and each of them have ripped in a different location meaning i could cut sections from the worst one to patch up the better two.
This bloke says it's doable but i'm wandering if anyone here has tried it themselves?

What's everyone watching this spooky season?
Couple freebie recommendations, Bull on 4OD and Host on the Iplayer. I haven't been a big fan of A24 horror films but i did love Hugh Grant in Paddington 2 so am quite excited to see The Heretic. I've also got that clown movie that made people puke and pass out on the list. Feel like he's under appreciated compared to Carpenter on here so will dig out some Craven classics.

Thanks man that's really helpful. This one has been tough as i was only a few months clear of a year long lower back issue. I picked this one up doing BJJ and by comparison is much harder to manage as i'm so reliant on the other person not going hard/making any sudden movements. Even a weak back can take an impressive battering but my groin feels like it has zero resilience. 6 weeks in i had thought it was improving but one spar with an over eager training partner was a reality check. Needless to say i'm worse off now than before said incident.
Sounds like i need a proper lay off. Fortunately riding bikes is ok, i don't run so maybe i'll give that a crack. Are you doing any groin flexibility work? I've got a few exercises but can't see any of them helping with my flexibility.

Starting to think this groin stain/tear isn't going to go away with just being careful and doing exercises copied off youtube. I'm over 10 weeks in and the pain is still noticeable when not putting much strain on it (getting out of bed) and pretty grim when i do try and use it (squeezing a pillow between knees exercise). It's as high as it can be so guessing sports massage is not an option, time to speak with a physio?

need some 1 /1/2 forks....
Did i miss when you threw the OG forks in the bin? Bike is looking great, how are you finding drops/crosstop life? Whenever i go road fixed i just get lazy and rest on the hoods and the reach is giving my back to much grief atm. Wouldn't mind trying something a bit different but as i'm no skidder feel like i'd be shifting my hands to a less than optimum position so i can reach the little lever.

Super lightweight white t-shirt recommendations for wearing under wool jumpers? That's the fashion angle but the reality is i want something for sleeping in that i don't sweat like a mofo in.
But if i were to grow up an get some knitwear where do i look for a nice simple crew jumper that isn't a PITA to look after? I picked up something from one of the Irish wool companies but the first one shrank horribly on a cool wash and the second stretched beyond wearable.
I'd lean into something like Finisterre or Carhartt for durability but i'm don't like the labels they always spaff on there. Arket?

Is Kurt Russell's beard just simply the greatest beard in a movie ever made?
Absolutely, took him over a year to perfect that bad boy. You probably know the stories but hard to believe it wasn't received well on release. John Carpenter took a bit of a kicking, not quite Michael Powell levels of wrong but still pretty brutal. And Rob Bottin is a genius.

IKEA do a desk clamp design. Just make sure it had a E14 or E27 base and there's tons of bulb options. Unlikely you'll find a dimmer on anything that isn't integral LED, you could wire in an inline dimmer but the beaut of an Anglepoise design is light levels can be adjusted by moving the head up and down. Normally when I'm at my desk I rotate the head against the wall and just have soft indirect light.
Sweet looking car.
