Seriously, I think they are easily robust enough, barring crashes which is covered above. And it's less about weight, more about comfort.

I have a 9cm deda stem for OS bars, missing the deda badge but it is black.£5 collected from shoreditch, but I'm not around until Friday. Pm if you want it.

Road levers work fine with canti brakes, but I would definitely fit adjusters on the hangers. It's difficult to fine tune brakes just by using the cable nut. Also, check Sheldon Brown for information on setting up cantis.

Had that problem with an LD-610, mounting it vertically meant it was pointing down, horizontally it caught my legs - really annoying. Preferred it that way cos I could do the night-rider thing. Some kind soul however solved the problem for me, by nicking it. Replaced it with a Blackburn.

Halo twin rail couriers then, fairly good tyres available in 'cool' colours. Wire bead I think though.

Folding are a bit easier to fit. Search on here for one of the tyres threads for advice on which ones, check park tool and Sheldon brown for general repair and maintenance advice.

It's no problem, fitted the tyre to one of the wheels and the lock is in the bag. Won't be setting any new records on the way in though.
