On carbon they are all black Sapim on our basic wheels silver...

Reason for this is simple we use really strong nipples to build our wheels and sometimes coloured imported nipples are not as strong.

Youre right but there can be a big difference between Chinese and Tiawan sourced carbon. Weve tried both and the rims we use come from the same factory source as the other better quality wheel manufacturers...Buy cheap buy twice im afraid....

Hi chaps...great thread with some interesting banter...Yes all our wheels UK handbuilt from handpicked products..we give you plenty of flexibilty when it comes to bespoke requests..ie one wheel machined, radial or not etc etc...Be careful when spending your hard earned dosh with carbon rims, believe me we've "been there".. You wont get the tension on a cheaper rim given carbon quality and depth of recess also ensuring a compatible nipple which can be turned with damaging the rim, using washers etc.. Well it sounds like they are out of true. Thats the first in over 500 pairs built. Always a first. Maybe had a knock on transit. Only solution is to true up. Feel free to return them and I'll have a look. Other way is take to your local shop. Probably only a 5 minute job.

I was asking this earlier, so hopefully I can help. The silver Miche hubs only come fixed/free.

For black, I believe you can email varno to confirm what you want, but they did have some stock of fixed/fixed.

Varno: I've just put tyres on my rims, and finally spun them around on my bike. The wheels are slightly out of true... not to the point where I can't use them, but I noticed it whilst I was getting my chain tension right: at one point, the tyre keeps brushing against the frame.

Can you please advise what can be done about this?

I doubt they will break! Like I said before its down to you if you want the all black look or real good brakes. You could go for either front or rear machine or unmachined.

Well. If you use unmachined they will eventually mark up and look scratchy. So if you want good brakes over good looks go unmachined.
