Guys I'm a novice and thinking about building my first wheel soon. Its an old 27 1 1/4 weinmann vintage wheel with 36holes. I will be lacing it to a system ex 36h hub and probably dt swiss spokes. I will ask the bike store to calculate the spoke lenght for me. Does anyone have tips for a beginner. I checked some interesting tutorials on ebay- it seems easy to get the spokes into the holes correctly but truing is something else. All tips welcome

To sausagefingers: yeah true dat. The mechanic at the shop was cool though at blb. But it does seem that some of the salesmen in the shop don't know shit about bikes and are cunts. Lol. Thanks for the encouragement. I shall lace them motherfuckers how I want.
To east end images: It is true that those wheels were use competitively ages ago. Plus these wheels have been on my bike ages and are still fine all this time. I now believe that newly made rims are shittier.
thanks for the 411 -

Haaah. Tea, beer, more tea, more beer.... Sounds right. But I don't drink either tea or beer. And ain't got no tv either. Does that mean I'm condemned to build bad wheels? I'll sub all that with youtube and ginger beer and a whole lot of rice and maffé sauce.
