Right, apparently they're the same files on a PC or mac?
Just copy the relevant GCFs or NCFs and files in the common/ folder (select where applicable) from SteamApps\ on Windows to SteamApps/ on your Mac.
SteamApps is typically C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps in Windows, and is /Users//Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps in Mac OS X.
But, that still doesn't solve that I probably cant buy, say far cry 3 (PC only) to download on a mac, to take home to play on the PC. So, I think I either have to instal a VM with windows on my mac, and download at work, or suck it up and leave downloads on for 3 days straight at home.
Pff.

Right, I've done a bit of googling, but can't find any info on the net. This is probably too niche of a 'problem'... but here goes:
Does anyone know if there's any way of me purchasing a game on steam (either on my PC at home, or my mac at work) - lets say it's a PC game, and downloading the PC steam files to a drive (int or ext) to take home and pop on the PC.
My reason is that we have ridiculously good internet at work, but my home 'broadband' gets 200k down. Ugh.
If i set stuff off overnight, it usually takes about 2 days to do.

I was kinda looking forward to the new xbox 'features' bar the fact that it worried me due to my shite internet connection... as much as I'm not as angry as that guy ^, I still think it's a shame they didn't stick to their guns. It's not like they're going to make up a huge amount of lost sales this way, most people who didn't like it, probably still don't like it due to the fact it could be easily implemented in the future.
Who knows. I'm glad I'm out of it for this gen. I'll wait till something actually awesome comes along I think.

^^ likewise.
But there's a lot of decisions they've made re: transitions that really jar for me.
I really like the new icon set, but that really isn't enough innovation for a brand new number. Everything feels a bit tacked on, and as if 1 person was doing each thing with a vague brief, and then they chucked it all together at the end.
^ Is dota 2 not just having to learn everything, before its fun?
I've heard it's pretty brutal if you can't remember what to click with what, when.
