I have a Monzo account and an IFTT set up such that every time I spend on my Monzo account is drops a line on a Google sheet.
I have my spending analysis, domestic budget and all sorts running of it. Can run custom categories and split category spending and all sorts.
The reports I have running off it make me feel sexy.
Been doing it for 7 odd years and the level of visibility and forensic analysis I have over my finances has saved me thousands. Possibly tens of thousands. -

"Despite tireless efforts, we’ve been unable to reach a viable agreement with HMRC - which means there is no realistic chance of trading out of the current debt, even with those offers of investment and ongoing improvements in productivity.
Having exhausted all alternative options, we have been forced to put the company into administration. At the same time, a group of existing shareholders bought the company assets back from administration as a going concern - preserving the jobs, the service and the mission.
This is a devastating decision that none of us ever wanted to make, but we have acted now in order to protect the mission, and our people.
This unfortunately leaves you, our shareholder, in the position we have done everything in our power to avoid; with your investment worthless in cash terms. For the majority of you whose investment sits under EIS or SEIS - there is some consolation in the form of loss relief, but I am very aware that this is a far cry from what your investment could have realised if things had worked out differently.
On a personal basis, I’m absolutely devastated by the turn of events that have led us to this point, even whilst remaining incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
I believe that people who invest in good projects deserve great returns - and that could have been possible this time, if things had been only a little different. If we’d made only a few key decisions differently and if a few external events had been different. I’m sorry that we haven’t been able to deliver what we’d hoped for you, our investor.
As the single largest shareholder in Bike Taxi Ltd (the company underlying “Pedal Me” until today, that you hold shares in), and having had to contribute personal funds at considerable risk to myself to allow the company buy-out in order to conserve jobs, believe me when I say that I would have done anything possible to avoid this playing out in the way that it has.
I do, however, believe that this process allows the Pedal Me mission, which you have been a fundamental part of establishing, to have the best possible chance of flourishing.
A fresh start with better governance, processes, and the learning from the last 6 years."

Ebay for the win!
Just snaffled this.
Yamaha stage custom bop kit.
18" bass drum, 12" snare, 10" and 12" toms in lush natural finish.
Comes with yamaha hardware and basic cymbal set too.Is the tidy little jazz kit I dreamed of owning in my twenties, which is also coincidentally the right size for the boy to learn on.
Pretty chuffed to be honest. -

I am about to spend a decent chunk of change on cavity wall insulation.
1970's property with nothing at all in the cavity.
Getting quotes for poly bead and adhesive fillThere are a few risks I am worried about
- Damp and condensation
- All the beads escaping when we replace the windows, for example
- Having zero recourse should either of these two things happen
Has anyone appointed an insulation contractor to do cavity wall insulation for them?
What sort of accreditations should I be looking for and what certificates do I or building control need?
- Damp and condensation

I have passed the bug to my 8year old son who starts lessons next week.
Does anyone have my leads for a good quality small second hand kit?
Not necessarily a junior kit, just something scalled down.
Thinking 10inch toms, 18inch bass drum, 12 inch hats.Basically a Richard Spaven kind of set up.
Anything about?

I am fitting a pole in a small utility room, to hang wet washing off and the like.
I need the pole to span from wall to all at exactly 90 to ensure it is the right length and that it lands correctly in the wall fittings.
I have a lazer level which will make sure it is vertically level, but trying to find a way to make the pole perpendicular to both walls and level is thrashing my head.
Anyone got any pro tips?

Testing the water here.
I built this up about 8 years ago, rode it for a couple of lush summer rides and centuries etc but then I had kids and didn't get out so much.
Did a bit of commuting on it when the weather was good and I could take it inside the office.
Apart from that it has been criminally underused. Then it sat in my office and was used as a Wahoo/Zwift rig through the pandemic.
It's all pitlocked and hexlocked for that London commuting flex.
It's in excellent condition.
No dints or dings, never crashed or pranged, regularly washed and lubed.
Next to no wear and tear.I have just moved out of London to near the South Downs and am fixing for something more gravel-y so I can manage the shitty road surface and make the most of the paths and what not.
Full spec below.

So it's the forks?
Presumably whatever brake I choose now will face the same issue?
