Did a one night camp with my son this weekend.
Dusted out my 20 year old Coleman Epsilon backpacking tent.Re proofed it with NikWax and seam sealed the whole thing.
Not too sure what the problem was, but we were DAMP.
It could have been condensation, but the tent material felt full saturated. It was a misty morning.
Could the damp air have permeated the tent?It might also be that the bathtub ground sheet needed re proofing too, and that the moisture was coming up from under us.
It might have just been condensation of two people in an old tent
Either way...
Tempted to try again. Re seal everything with Fabrisil silicone based gear, rather than the water based Nik Wax stuff... try to bring a 20 year tent back into life.or...
Just treat myself to a new backpacking tent. Doesn't need to be pro grade.
Just enough to throw in a backpack or the boot for a minimal camp with one kid.Anyone got any experience of the Vango Caringorm?

there is a studio in Brockley (brockley studios) that I use, room hire with backline on a weeknight is very reasonable.
https://brockleystudios.co.uk/The place is a terraced house. Mental soundproofing. Neighbours don't even know.

I had a bad year 20/21, didn't we all, and my reduced income means I am not required to submit for the period.
I have had good results since and will need to submit again this year.I went through the exemption process and registered reduced income as the reason I don't need to submit. Got confirmation of my submission but nothing else.
No notification that my submission has been approved and still being chased to submit.Am I missing something?

If you are camping with a toddler then a black out tent is a MUST.
Decathlon do black out, but the best in market is Coleman.Without it you will wake up with a toddler clawing at your eyes at 4am when the sun comes up.
This is a good budget option - https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/air-seconds-family-4-2-xl-fresh-black-family-camping-tent-i-4-people/_/R-p-157654?mc=8572950&c=BEIGE
But you might want to spend a bit more to get some more communal space. If it rains keeping a toddler occupied in 200cm sq would be trouble. -

Hello you lot.
I know there of plenty of skaters on here, and plenty of parentsMy nearly six year old has been having a great time on the cousin's skateboard and we have sent him for a lesson with someone who knows what they are doing because I don't.
Time to get him a board.
Before I take the plunge and spend £50 on a new set up I thought I would ask here.
Does anyone have a full set up, about 8inches wide, that would suit a 5 year old for a couple of years?
He's 5. So the gnarlier the graphics the better.

I use these.
Cheap as chips and have worked in pitching a three-man tent on a shingle beach and holding down guys on an 8ft by 8ft tarpe shelter in high winds. -

Anyone got the nod for a decent place for a big team dinner?
I was hoping for Palomar but they won't do a table for 20
