I've always struggled with the V60 and I think this, along with differences in filter paper stock, is a big part of it. Agitation of the grounds can cause fines to migrate downwards and clog the pores of the filter, stalling the drawdown. Brewing with decaf, which is even more prone to generating fines, exacerbates the problem.
I've found this with decaf. Coffee takes almost twice the time to draw down. What's recommended method for decaf brewing? best to just use aeropress or some other method?

Been riding my vagabond a bit recently and am finding it really flexy, especially when carrying luggage. It feels pretty sketchy tbh. It's both front and rear ends that are wobbling. It's the old qr version and am running Hope tech xc wheels with 2.1 MTB tyres. I'm not sure if it's the wheels or the frame. Any vagabond owners experienced the same? It should in theory be capable of carrying loads for off road touring.

So, I might be taking some time out from work and looking to do something completely different and had the idea about a frame building course of some kind. I've zero experience so would be starting from scratch and I don't have any particular goal in mind other than I think I might enjoy the process of learning a new skill and deepening my knowledge of how bikes are made. Does anyone have any recent recommendations of courses out there? Am based in Bristol but could go to London. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere.

Don't disagree with the sentiment of this thread, but feel it's not entirely black and white. Tyres and brakes - I would not want to go back to my bikes from 15 years ago - UK conditions being what they are 90% of the year. Also, maybe some proportion of tech advancements are genuinely stuff that bike enthusiasts came up with, and not consciously driven by the planned obsolescence strategy.

Looking at upgrading my portable audio set up. Currently using technics Bluetooth wireless ear buds and my mobile phone (pixel 8a) which is pretty ok but am starting to notice the SQ limitations of Bluetooth more and more. Previously I had a dragonfly blue DAC and a set of blon cheap iEMs. SQ was better but the reason I changed was the faff of all the wires and extra stuff, which was a pain when travelling. I've got an old set of sennheiser hd 25s that I can dig out. I'd rather not have to carry around another device but beginning to think I may need to. I guess I am looking for recommendations for a set up with excellent SQ but not too cumbersome to carry around?

Disappointing result. Contacted LLC's firm Osborne's Law and said I was a member of LLC. They called me and took the basic details and then emailed me back to say that it's "likely that the compensation for the injuries you sustained will fall below £1000. Claims for injuries below £1000 are known as ‘small claims’ for which you are unable to claim your legal costs. If you went ahead, your legal costs will diminish the value of any compensation you recover considerably so it is unlikely to be worthwhile engaging a solicitor."
Also, I texted the driver and asked for his insurance details but he said he wants to contact his insurer himself first. I have the bike booked into the local bike shop for a crash inspection on Wednesday next week. I've also got some damage to my clothing and will need a new helmet.

Where's the list of things to do in case of accident gone?
A driver pulled out on me from a side road and I went into the side of his car. Luckily only cuts and bruises. In process of reporting to police.
Out of interest how would you describe it? I don't want to say "accident" because it wasn't an accident, someone was at fault. Being "knocked off" doesn't feel accurate either considering the scenario.

Thanks - good options all.
Shand stoater rohloff looks closest to what I'm after thanks. Can't quite get over price tag though. Thorn Mercury Mk3 looks close to - if I could fit drop bars to it.
I have a Day One which I use for commuting set up with flat bars. It's really agricultural and doesn't really inspire me to put the miles in on, hence the preference for something a bit nicer . -
I'm thinking an ideal functional winter road bike for me would be
all steel frame and fork,
disc brakes
Clearance for 35 with mudguards
Drop bar
Hub gear
Dynamo routing
Endurance/ touring geometry
Classic steel looks e.g. like Singular cyclesBasically something as simple to maintain as possible.
Anything I should be looking at? Possibly custom?

What is everyone's views of Mapdec?
Quite enjoy the content and appreciate the focus on quality engineering etc. Like a lot of youtubers though there always seems to be something about BB misalignment etc. When did bikes become so prone to these issues? I'm sure there never used to be such a number of BB issues up until the last couple of years.

Keep getting threatening letters from tv licencing latest being they've started 'an investigation into my property' despite me telling them numerous times I don't have a TV. Any suggestions for ending this Kafkaesque insanity?
