Ladies, I'm so sorry, but I think I'm out for tomorrow... :-( Booo! My back isn't any better, was killing me last night and I don't think that riding a bike for half a day would do it any favours. I'm still praying for a miracle though- you never know, always have to look on the bright side... I'm so sorry! (esp. since I can't do the 5th either as I have visitors over that weekend). Have a lovely time!

nice little dig at the English there.
It talks of English Horse Polo, how posh that is etc and how that's how its done in England. And then goes on to say that the Danish do it differently, they play it on bikes and on concrete - the rougher way. So perhaps a 'dig' at the English Horse Polo, but not really at the English per say or English Bike Polo. As the guy who's written it makes it sound like in England they play Horse Polo and in Denmark they play bike polo... It's the boring old angle of Horse Polo vs. hardcourt bike polo.

Hurrah! For Ladies What No Longer Lurk! Awesome user name 2wheeledpony. I'm in Tottenham, so fairly local-ish...good aim too. I've heard great things about that ride - maybe a Ladies Road trip in 2013 ; )
Right then: first date to propose Sunday 23rd October, leaving 11-ish, probably head into North Essex countryside with pub lunch enroute?Thank you! My first love is horses, but they're hard to upkeep and too expensive when you live in London so they have been replaced for steel steeds - hence the name :-)
I'm totally up for Sunday 23rd, the other half plays polo on Sundays so its only fair I get to go out and play on my bike I think!
And regarding Vätternrundan 2013 - please do come along!Look forward to finding out more about the rides!

Hi, I've not posted on the ladies forum before... I'm Therese, I live in east London and like riding bikes, but none of my female friends are interested in bikes, so it would be great to make some new friends...
I'd be very much up for this. Been wanting to go for rides on weekends since I got my road bike, but find it hard to know what routes to take etc. Would be really nice to go as a group and to make some new friends.
My ultimate goal is to do Vätternrundan (300 km in Sweden), but that's not until 2013 as I missed out on registration for next year. So I think this would be a good way to start! -

Where is morning coffee??!? Is it good coffee? None of this Americano bullshit. I want REAL filter coffee, quality filter coffee... rich filter coffee...
Try Scandinavian Kitchen on Great Titchfield Street or Nordic Bakery. The Scandie's take filter coffee seriously - no weak rubbish coffee there! (or espresso blended with hot water crap)

What kind of helmet is it?
If it's a skate style lid it might be ok- I've no experience of those, but know that they can take a couple of knocks.
A standard road/MTB helmet however is beyond use after one hit.
There may be no visible damage, but they are designed to deform and absorb the impact force once and once only.
The last couple of times I have had to replace my lid I sent it back to Specialised as part of their crash replacement program (theoretically they cut the old helmet up and see how it performed in the crunch) and got my new helmet for half price.
Thank you for the advice, very much appreciated!
Hmm, so new helmet it is then. It's a standard road helmet, think it's a Kask, italian brand. Will look into if they do the same thing as Specialized, if they do it would make me very happy. If not, is it wrong to ask the guy who hit me to at least pay for half of it? Had it not been for him I wouldn't have crashed...? -
Shit! WAC. Hope you got him to buy you a new helmet.
I got his name and number just in case. Helmet looks ok though no visible crack, not sure how to check it? Never smacked my head in the ground before, so never needed to check.
I saw him again on my commute in this morning, he didn't see me though. I noticed he was riding free wheel with one front brake... -
At 7.05 pm on Hackney Road - me being hit from behind by a numpty cyclist with no f-ing clue of road awareness what so ever! I skidded to stop for a lady with a pram at a zebra crossing, next thing I know someone smashes into my back and I go over the handlebars and smashed head in road - thank you helmet. I'm so fed up with all these numpties who have no road awareness and can't even look ahead and pay attention to a zebra crossing and keep tail gaiting and under take!
Better he hit me than the pram though! -

I just used the Roadsafe London site for the first time to report a passenger carrying an infant on her lap in a little hatchback.
The driver's driving seemed a bit iffy as well.
Thanks for the link!
I just reported a white van driver who first was beeping along behind me on Queensbridge Road whilst he was driving on the right, yes the right side, of the road because of the traffic queue due to the temporary lights by the Richmond Rd crossing. I turned around and gave him a shrug of the shoulders and shouted 'what? I'm not doing anything wrong'. I then had a second run in with him on Richmond Rd and he came from Malvern Road and turning right onto Richmond Rd. He saw me, sped towards me on purpose whilst on his mobile phone! I shouted at him to get off his f-ing phone and pay attention whilst he passed me. Then he stopped and was swearing in his foul east end builders chavvy acceent and was probably gonna get out of his van and beat me up, (he probably doesn't care if he beats up a girl, or a child or puppy for that matter) so I just waited behind the van where he couldn't see me and he sped off, but I got the license plate number. I know this isn't the worst thing that has happened, but I think this shit shouldn't happen at all and it pisses me off. I have a right to be on the road as a cyclist and the right to not feel threatened and double dicks like that should be punished. I'm not expecting anything to come out of reporting it, but you never know...Sorry, rant over...

Todd: It was stolen from our Mews! The padlock wasn't on the gate last night (the one that locks the pole down) because of building works, so they must have lifted up the ground pole and pushed the gate open, as the neighbour noticed the gate was open when she went to the gym this morning. So angry! No other bikes were stolen though, but one gone is bad enough!
Come ooon Coooosmic!!!
