Just a thought - year one cycles in Cornwall can refurb most ergos. Had a pair of 2006 Centaur 10sp that had done 13 years of cross and road refurbed, great job and cheaper than a s/h set. The ultra 10sp centaur shifters are in high demand. Cost me about £60+postage. My left ergo is now pretty much a record inside:)

Hi - my two penneth would be its hard to shift most CX bikes with cantis - apart from high end ones. I have a Ridley of similar vintage and if I wanted to sell I doubt I'd get much for it as a complete bike, even though its got a nice gruppo and wheels.

PS - I'm ex of the manor so please say hi to Winnie from me

Fair enough. Myself and another ex Londoner are in Broadstairs, both kind of newish to the area. We've been riding out to the lanes in the Elham valley south of Canterbury - Stelling Minnis, Kingston, Derringstone, Wingmore, Pett Bottom. Lots of very quiet lanes with iffy surfaces and some short sharp climbs. Been here 3 years and I'm still learning. You're welcome to join us, we mainly ride gears and our pace isnt frantic as we're both middle aged bastards.

£50 for the 1050 gruppo is a great deal. I've seen some asking silly money for these recently (£200+). GLWS
