Do either of you, or anyone else know if it's likely that the Dawes Galaxy frame I've got was meant to have a 610 on the front and a 750 on the back (or vice versa)? In which case, I may actually have found the right caliper sets, in pieces, in a spares box in my shed.

I'll go and do some research myself and let yous twos know whether I still need a set.

I got my hands on a Dawes Galaxy (circa 1980) in full working order. Decided I'd take it apart, clean it and put it back together. Did so, but in the process moved house and lost the brakes, so I need replacements.

The brakes I'm after are Weinmann 750 centrepulls. Like these:

Just had exactly the same thing happen outside Shoreditch tube. Rode to the pub on my pub bike, chained up pub bike and went into pub, two hours later the front wheel's gone. Clearly should have chained it but I'm still coming to terms with the fact that these days, opportunist theives carry an assortment of spanners.
