there is a guy that I see on my route to work quite often. on the hipster highway from hackney road through to clerkenwell rd usually at about 9:15. The guy has a 50's/ 60's burgundy road bike, and a lime green bmx lid. Has absolutly no consideration for anyone else on the road. weaving in and out of everywhere, undertaking and RLJing. anyone else seen him?

yeah you can get bottom brackets that have a shorter spindle. for example:
Miche Primato Track Bottom Bracket(107mm x 68mm shell, BSA)
the 107 is the total length. you need to measure yours and see if you can get a shorter one. One thing to make sure tho is that you have enough clearance inbetween the chainring and your chainstay on your frame.

Thought id put up a thread for my bikes.
This is my current Hewitt track bike, built it slowly up over the years and this is its current guise. On the list of things to do it is build up a new set of wheels. currently have a set of Mavic pista hubs and looking to build them up with Open Pros or tb14's. Also a new paintjob as the current paint is strarting to look tatty. currently thinking a gunmetal grey.
Ive been looking to build up a road bike for a while, and ive just committed to ride from Stockholm to Gothenburg next year, so dont fancy doing the 350miles fixed. Found a nice hewitt on ebay last week and have got so attached to the track frame I couldn't turn down the idea of building up a hewitt road bike and bought it.
Need some work doing to it, need wheels and levers for a start. needs a respray too. Tempted to do it the same as the track bike, gunmetal too. Anyway ill put up my progress as I go along.
Crappy ebay pic for the time being:

Ive had boomers (battery ones) for about 4 months, and cant fault them. ive had a good few of the other ones in the range and have been disappointed with brightness and quality.
The boomers have a hardshell casing on the inside for water protection which is missing on the others, hence why they break so easily.
There proper bright too. they have a high intensity led rather than normal leds on the other models.
I cant vouch the the usb versions. but the normal AAA with some decent rechargeable batteries last about 3 weeks with about 40mins riding a day before needing a recharge.
hope that helps
