I think we made it in not long after you guys- mainly due to having done the sensible thing and bought a map and maintaining a respectable 13mph. No lycra or SPDs required- still made it back for the nocturne too.
We went through Marlow, Fingest, Christmas Common, awesome descent of Watlington Hill then a straightforward coast along the B480 which would have been lots more fun without a headwind! -

Ticket is still in Somerset at my mum's but on its way to London, will post pics when it's here.
The full weekend tickets have photos on them but the day tickets (only available to locals I think) only have names- I'll give any taker a copy of one of my utilities bills and that is accepted as ID. Although to be honest I'm pretty sure they don't check on Sundays.
-
I have a ticket for Glastonbury (just the Sunday) that I now can't use- gutted.
It's yours for £60 posted recorded delivery or £55 collected in London- I'm pretty sure it's got my name printed on it so it needs to be used by a girl...
It includes a bus to the festival site from Street or Glastonbury town centre.

Hi all, I'm Kate, I'm currently working for Bikeworks in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest, as well as for Hackney council and a couple of schools directly in East London, and doing the odd bit for Islington and Camden councils.
Over the past few weeks alone I've worked with kids aged 7-17, students, mums, PCT referrals, you name it.
I've done some volunterring on Sustrans' Bike It and a couple of community projects, including one for young adults with learning disabilities.
Training adults is especially bvrilliant as they respond very well to the logic the National Standards are based on- just a couple of hours is usually enough to impart a good understanding of basic skills and concepts (position, communication and awareness) that are universally useful and important. -
-
does everyone know they're probably entitled to at least 2 hours free training? Most of the London borough councils offer everyone who lives/ works on their patch at least 2 hours one-to-one with an accredited instructor, and some councils offer basic maintenance and another hour training- all for FREE!!
would be great if people took them up on this offer so that a. more people are riding more safely, b. the scheme is continued, c. us poor cycle instructors stay in work!
so spread the word people! -
-
ah shit been offered work I can't turn down so I'm out- so sorry! Have a great time guys, will be thinking of you and green with envy (or brown with suntan)
