The hole in the seat lug was probably meant as a gas vent hole and was filled, because the toptube was attached lower than it should normally be.

Is this some kind of filler in the headtube-area? Have you welded it straight to the remaining part of the lugs? Rest of the work so far looks promising. Deserves some really flashy paint!

I'm pretty sure it is the mexico as it looks identical to the one i own. Mine is the original pearlescent white but these colours look nice! Shallow black rims and a mix of black and silver would do it for me.

Early nineties MTB built with a way shorter stem (original one has 150mm length-now 120). Nearly the same reach as my road bike, but miles more fun. The rack is selfmade.

Good luck finding them. There are two versions, the later ones with Aluminium clamp are even better because they are stiffer. I found it a nice way to have 1x without having to detach the left brifter.

The shifter sits next to the right brake lever. It is called "Suntour Command" 8-speed indexed shifting.

i would have taken a set of your HIPP stickers. zipp 3000 on the front. rattlecanned amulinium high profile at the rear, weighing in at min. 1.5kg. i thought it was worth asking but it is not that important for me to cause you any trouble.

Having some production issues currently cutting the laminnated decals... they're too thick to cut neatly... Also, tt's a mate that's doing it for me as a favour, if you want Zipp would you not be best off just ordering some off ebay to match your rear?

no problem. the rear wheel is not zipp, so i definitely wont put genuine stickers on it.

btw. the pink stripe is a very nice detail...

would you mind making 2 more stickers? would love to have them to match the zipp frontwheel. flouroyellow instead of pink would be even better. any chance?

the rearend with those crooked stays looks plain ugly to me. and the deathtrapeugeot has a detail you wont notice from the side;-)

the webbings look nice, but add weight. do prefer my own one :-)

i have not heard of any of those gitanes to have something else than french, but if so consider yourself a lucky guy. its a nice frame and you have a far wider choice for headset and bb.

have the very same lugs on my gitane mexico. dropouts are the same too, actually all the details are the same. except the english threading, which wasn`t confirmed yet.

99.9% sure its a gitane. it should not have english threads if it is though.

its 60cm ctc, while the effective toptube is 56. the angles are brutally steep, but have never measured it correctly...
