i did wonder how it would work, but OV (OP...) seemed to suggest by PM it wouldn't be a problem to have more than 10 (presumably the 10m / £140 is a bit arbitrary and more could be made / cut?)
i will wait to see what happens by Friday and then paypal you if there is space, and if not deal with OV direct.

edit: title should read 700c rear wheel wanted with hub gears
I have a frame that takes 700c wheels that has previously been single speed that I would like to change to have a hub gear.
I'd like to get an already built up rear wheel second hand, if possible.
Probably a sturmey archer 3 speed, as it's an old frame, but also could be anything (nexus, newer sturmey, i don't know) as it might end up being a case of trying it out and then deciding if it is the way to go.
don't know much about hub gears so i would like to be able to slot it in as easily as possible, preferably it'd have a lever too...
Thank you - ideas and alternative suggestions welcome.

I am a bit confused, as I thought it was in SE London (see OP). I could probably come and get it tonight, or at the weekend. I definitely want it, but maybe marcus does more...!
Marcus - if you want it and can pick it up in a time frame that suits knowthejo you can have it.
I want it for a build and it isn't the last part ie I won't be riding it soon so i can bide my time for another one I think.

dear all
this evening i will mostly be seeking two 700c wheelset with a 126 OLD. One set is to be used in place of some wheels I has with sprint rims that I shall shortly be offering.
One set is to be converted into an in-between-quick-fix singlespeed with one of those little spacer kits.
thus I think I need one set at least to have a cassette rather than a freewheel (but correct me if I am wrong).
PS bikes are 80s and 70s respectively and so I am really looking for something in keeping. AND in London. so I can come and get it.
Yours sincerely
Best Regards

question: i'm in a similar situation to bodieanddoyle (building a 3 speed bike) but i already had a frame, it takes 700c wheels and has horizontal ish dropouts - are there any particular problems with putting a sturmey hub in a normal frame (apart from probably having to build up a 700c sturmey wheel)?
thank you.
and apologies for derailing your thread. although any bump is good i suppose...
I have PM'd you
