Whilst we're talking watches.......
I've been pondering the idea of getting a watch for a while. My partner @speculoos has a Garmin forerunner and I use that for pacing etc. and it works great.
To compliment that I would love a watch that has a few more functions for trail running, mountaineering, ski touring and navigating. I'd love a watch with a barometer and altimeter, as well as an ability to load .gpx tracks onto it.
I appreciate that this might not be something that people on this thread are always looking for, but I'm struggling to figure out the market so if anyone has any knowledge I would be much obliged.
This seems to be very good for the price https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/reviews/camping-and-hiking/gps-watch/suunto-ambit-3-peak and I can't make heads or tails of why there are some that cost triple this....

Hi Folks
Does anyone have a kryptoflex or other type of locking cable knocking about? I'm either after a couple of these, or one longer one.
I've always ended up with a surplus of these from locks that come with them, but just when I actually need one is the time when I've long given them away!
I'm based in West Ham but happy to pedal most places East-ish.
Thanks

It took me a little while to figure out the 'send to smartphone' function. The trick is to download the 'Imaging Edge' app first and connect to your camera from the phone first. Then the send to smartphone function works fine and is relatively intuitive.
I've also been enjoying have a low level Zebra setting on to help with exposure settings. I'd never heard of the function before, but it shows up a zebra pattern on any parts that are over exposed.

Do you think we should change the name of this thread to 'Thread for asking about a compact digital camera, being told to buy a new iphone and ending up with a Sony A6000 instead'?
That's exactly what happened to me when I stepped into this thread. Could save someone some time.
Loving my A6000 so far, all I have to do now is go somewhere photo worthy!

Freddo has a point, although if you're only doing the ceiling it shouldn't affect access to the vehicle wiring.
Does the alternator look like the original, or has it been updated? I'd be a bit careful about charging a leisure battery from an original alternator on a vehicle of that age.
If it is the original, make sure you have the capacity to manually stop the leisure battery drawing charge when you install the split charge system.

If you want it to be well equipped I would recommend taking a look at race vans. There are a load of well looked after vans that are fitted with top quality equipment, but aren't wood lined yet so don't command the same prices as campervans.
E.g
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sprinter-race-van/154195540153?hash=item23e6c538b9:g:BIUAAOSwNg1fittcIf you convert something yourself, the price on new equipment and fittings will quickly add up. Add to that the needs of converting it to a motorhome on the V5, and getting any gas installation tested there are a few extra hurdles.
If you get something small enough for daily use as a car, you will inevitably compromise on use as a live in but driving a panel van to the supermarket is madness. Can't you do you shopping on a bike?

Exactly what Grams said, although I wouldn’t call that anything and everything because there are only a few things to eliminate if you’re checking whether they’re receiving a decent charge. Either the alternator isn’t outputting properly or you’ve got something wrong in between (relay, connections, fuses)
Also worth bearing in mind that even if they’re receiving a decent charge from the alternator they might not be holding it if they’re too old or have been drained to flat too many times. You can’t really check the status of a battery at home so it’s a bit of a trial and error thing seeing if they hold power.

The Forerunner 235 i borrow from my partner has way more features than I normally use, so i'd say the forerunner 35 is probably a good shout. for tracking pace, distance and heart rate (which is all you need really).
