thanks mate and they are french threaded? what frame do u have?

I bought a frame not knowing it was french thread until i went to put a new bb in and it didnt thread in. so had to use the old bb cups, replaced bearings and changed the axle from cottered to square spindle. only thing is now the drive side cup dials in too much so that the lockring wont grip on enough keeps coming loose no matter how much i tighten it. Any ideas or suggestions would be great? fairly reluctant to buy a new frame

i had the exact same problem, luckily the bike shop had a shorter sqaure taper axle and works fine with my old french cup and cone. have a hunt around for axles on ebay

how much for postage? would u take £8 for it

On the topic of cranks, has anyone used the stronglight mygal messenger from planet x or the lasco crankset on velosolo? cant seem to find any reviews anywhere
