Gotta be careful with the second type. I found that with MKS road pedals, it's hard to get the straps tight enough for a really snug fit cos of the room between the outside edge of the pedal and the outer side of the cage. If you're running doubles, the bridge at the beginning of the straps needs all that room.
Not very well described, but very, very, very true.
As a plus, the second type tend to be shorter in my experience and thus easier for tight clearance frames.

nice, i like the frame a lot. but surely you could take out a link or at least a half link and get it nice and tight in the rear ;)
Yeah, knocked two links out only the other night after glaring at the dropouts and willing them to do something, anything to sort themselves out.

I'm guessing it's about 54cm. Some of the braze ons have been filed down(not by me) There's a shimano crankset and, i'm assuming BB in there. Intergrated headset, a stem and a slightly rusted brake caliper. It was ridden for a number of years (but never by me)

Yup.
I guess the doubles are easier to get in and out of but the singles are firmer.
It depends what you want, a quickie, or a firm hold.
