Got a letter inviting my household to join the ONS Covid Infection Survey – I know a few people on here are already part of it, is it worth signing up?
Pros - Weekly covid tests and an antibody test with results, plus a voucher.
Cons - I've not been filled with confidence that anything official that's related to covid is going to be anything other than a shitshow -

It's because the new kit wasn't registered in time apparently.

This map is useful as it breaks down weekly cases to a very granular local level. I am pretty concerned that where I live (the border between Stamford Hill and Stoke Newington) appears to be the middle of a hotspot. I looked at it last week and only two areas had cases - now six do. And that's the data from the week before last.

Hello!! I recognised Ger but wondered who everyone else was. I saw @Vince on the way out too in a NLTCBMBC jersey, great day for forumenger spotting!

We had a volley of fireworks last week on my street. Le sigh.
Also, I swear it's getting longer each week as people don't want to be the first to turn tail and close their doors for fear of being the least fawning towards the NHS.
I was making tea at 8 and couldn't bring myself to drop everything to go and do it. Am I less of an upstanding citizen now?

My smell/taste was gone for almost a week with no other symptoms. It only disappeared after my headaches and fatigue went away so I decided after some internetting that it was post-viral anosmia.
It started coming back yesterday (after losing it last Sunday) and today I could finally taste my dinner again! Such a relief.

My boyfriend had the common symptoms at the start of the week (painful cough, temperature, aches and a headache). They eased off after a few days but since Thursday he lost his sense of smell and taste. I've been feeling a little bit rough this week too but not 'proper' ill, but today my sense of smell totally disappeared. I'm no hypochondriac so I feel like it's too much of a coincidence. I've been going around the house furiously smelling things to make sure I'm not going mad.

Today's deaths by country chart. Trajectory is not looking good for the UK.

My boyfriend runs a charity about grief – they used to run weekly groups in London but the last was yesterday before they stopped face to face meetings. They are looking at online equivalents at the moment so if anyone sadly might need support in this way you can find them here.

This is brilliant!
