Forgot I started this thread all those years ago.
Happy to say I finally plucked up the courage and started doing some stand up myself, did loads of open mic nights which went well but realised telling 'jokes' doesn't suit my style.
My stuff has weirdly developed into poetry/standup (sort of), never thought that would happen in a million years, but it works and people laugh at the right bits!Doing slots at a regular monthly night now which I absolutely love.
Tim Key and Rob Auton are definitely my heroes as far as that mix of comedy and poetry goes, both absolute masters at it.

Was in the car and had some bellend in a brand new Merc tailgate me so close on the fast Woodford bit of the North Circular, I've never been subject to driving that aggressive.
Honestly I reckon he might have actually touched my bumper it was that close.
It was pretty heavy traffic and there were cars right ahead of me in my lane so literally nowhere to go anyway.
Caught him on dashcam (with his accompanying wanker gesture), sent to met roadsafe.Just got a reply saying they are going to prosecute, hopefully it all goes through.

@Thrustvector I emailed them first and they just said to include the colour I wanted and some extra CC numbers in the message box.
£5 surcharge per bag to get the black/black colour. -

@dangeek thanks for the stickers!
Brompton is ready to DO A SKID now. -
I think it's going to pretty much be a permanent change, even once we have lost the weight we want to get rid of.
We both just feel so much better while on this diet, getting quality sleep, energy levels staying steady throughout the day.As far as I'm aware it's an all or nothing thing, if you have cheat days where you allow a bunch more carbs your body gets a bit 'confused' as to what it it's going to use as it's primary fuel source (glucose/glycogen vs fat) so that can leave you feeling pretty rotten for a couple days.
Beer is honestly the only thing we are properly missing (especially now the weather is looking nicer), but now we are on gin/rum we are just drinking less in general which is probably a good thing.

Just keto, wife and I started it at the same time and found it suits us perfectly.
We were trying to calorie count and eat 'healthy' versions of things before, not ever buying cheese/butter etc going to the gym but it never really worked for us.Basically our diet is:
Less than 20g carbs a day
Meat
Green veg
Green salad
Cheeses
Cream instead of milk in coffee
Spirits
Diet/Zero fizzOne of the huge differences we found was very consistent energy levels, always feel good, no spikes or dips really.
Total lack of proper 'I must eat in the next 10 mins' type of hunger too, which we would both frequently get before starting on this.Happy that Hawksmoor/Meatliquor are very much ok for going out to eat on this diet :)

Lost 9.5kg in 10 weeks.
Down to 77.1kg total.Loss rate is definitely slowing, but given I'm not really calorie counting anymore (or going gym) I'm happy enough!
Will be back on the bike for regular commuting next week, so that should hopefully kick start the weight dropping speed again.
Discovered that keto cake and custard is actually well nice.

Yeah the extra firey one is 0, and well spicy and nice!
I thought the same about rum (as have a few friends questioning the keto diet and rum choice) but I've checked as many places as I can and looks legit that rum is either 0 or very low carb.
I guess whatever the process is of making it gets rid of all the actual sugar content.
Found this while looking it up, could be bullshit:True: rum does not have carbs. Those are either fully fermented or removed during the first distillation. So why does rum (and bourbon, and some whiskeys etc) taste sweet? Due to aromatic hydrocarbons being formed / released from the barrel during the aging process.
First bike commute in about a year or so, tried the Quietway 7 route.
Not great as a designated "quiet" route, but a little bit nicer than my old route (Milkwood Drive shudders).
Nice to see London Bridge and either end are still massive dangerous clusterfucks for cycles, is there no TFL plan to sort out that route for cycling?
