I did it on 72 GI, but it wasn't easy! I didn't think the hill would ever end. I took it slow and steady, really had to push down on the pedals hard and pull up on the bars (so much that one side is now bent!). Did it with a group of mixed ability riders, and as i was out in front it was a clear run, but it won't be good if people are getting in your way. Good luck!

If anyone is interested but £40 is too steep then I'm open to offers.
I should probably say that the 26" wheels do fit the bike. It is a boys racer, hence the small frame size and smaller wheels.
I've had it hanging around for a while and need to clear the space for the new bike I'm getting on the Bike4work scheme!
Cheers

Raleigh frame for sale:
50cm CTC seat tube
54cm CTC top tube
26" wheelsForks, seat, seat post and cranks all included. I also have the front and rear derailleurs, brake callipers and chain if required. I was going to build this frame up but dont have the time or the money at the moment. Given the size it would be good for a girl or smaller guy.

Thanks to all the advice and support above, today at work I decided to take the plunge and flipped my wheel round too.
Five mile ride home and it wasn't too bad (although ashamed to say I did receive my first beep from a driver a I was looking down trying to work out how to get my left foot into the cleat).
I found riding down hill a little odd, just relaxed my legs and let the bike do the work. I was going a lot slower than I normally would too, but a few more rides and will see how it goes. Will have to see what its like tomorrow morning when the traffic is a bit heavier as getting started after stopping was also a challenge.
Basically, just a quick one to say good thread and thanks for the inspiration to do something I meant to do months ago!

SM1 - As with all others, the main roads were generally ok, although had to ride closer to the centre than normal to avoid any slush at the kerb side. Chickened out and took the mountain bike yesterday, but was back on the ss today. Got to work (about a 30 min ride) with only a couple of wheel spins, then ate it in the work car park riding down the ramp taht was covered in sheet ice!
