Got a 70's Raliegh Reynolds 531 with scruffy paint about the right size, you need to be a bit more specific. Do you want 531 or not bovered? I think the Raliegh could be had for about £50, I'll ask him, pick up only, Whitechapel. He does not deal in stolen gear, btw, all legit.

I think the Raligeh is a 60cm, but he's got a 531 Holdsworth 54cm I think he wants £75, or a British Eagle for £50 not 531 though. Gonna see him tommorw will takes some pics if I remember. -
i payed £700 for mine, reduced from £850 though.
Nice fella's in halfords where i live let me swap my 2 week old 09 boardman comp (had done 100+ miles) for the 08 Team for £50.

yeah, nice, was chatting to a fella last week who had one and had a £10 plastic D lock to secure it, natch I put him right and told him to get a Granit, NYC etc. He paid £500 for his, seems a good price.

Hey all, after some revision and advice i am now looking for a frame for my lovely lady so that she may ride fixed, road or track anywhere between 52 and 54cm, nice lugs would be a bonus. She is 5'9, and found my small 56cm to be comfortable. Budget of around £100 but obviously if i can save her a few pennies then that would be magic. Thanks all....
If you don't get sorted my builder mate will sort you with a frame or build you a 531 fixie conversion to your spec from about £250. New paint would be extra.
The quality of the build is 100%. E1 area.

My ron cooper BB was 30 years old and 'welded' in over time, I tried to drill it out and just made a big mess, his bro torched it out easily enough. Did not need a rethread. Argos would prolly charge £50 for that!

The Carlton was the piece of sxxt white one, dropped it off for a mate who is a builder, it had chrome forks, probably 1975 vintage, 531 though and very Noel Edmonds typeface on the tube!

A new bottom bracket shell is 4 tubes quite a big job, think Vaz will do it for £80 plus basic respray £60 but maybe he could rethread it instead you need to let him see it.
Argos prices = ha ha ha.

I am 5 10 and a 54cm is good for me for a sports bike, 56cm for my hybrid to work bike.
If I were spending £500 on a frame I would have it custom built. Worth looking in too and less money too.

You can re-chrome, but that's going to cost some money.
Also, you can consider to re-paint the whole F&F, incl the chrome.I was told by a restorer that re-chroming weakens the metal and he won't do it. I hear cola and tin foil works quite well.

I know a guy in Whitechapel who works from home, he did my Cooper, nice job.
Probably charge about £50+parts or bring your own. He rebuilt my Campag/MA2 wheels nice.

Tips for dealing with MR Vaz.
Be nice, he is very nice, he supports Spurs and I still like him.
Write down what you want on a bit of paper and give it to him
Go in person to deliver and collect
Pay cash and haggle discount.
His brother can do anything, he burnt out my BB and tracked my tri'.
Dismantling costs £5 per part, ie forks, BB. so do yourself if you can.
Get touch up pot to take away with you.
